Please, you can help a beginner astronomer.?
Hello, I just brought my first telescope and they have created. When I look through it the image is rotated about 90 degrees. I have to look through the eyepiece head on the telescope to obtain a normal picture. Is it right or how I can fix it? Also You can buy eye to get a better view. Any help would be great.
This is completely normal for an astronomical telescope. The image is normally reversed and / or rotate, and sometimes is a mirror image. Since there is no "up" or "down" in space, astronomers simply ignore these orientations. While it is possible to erect prisms often work only in refractors and Cassegrains, not Newtonian. They add extra glass for the optical path, which darkens Image and aberration, so its use is discouraged. You will find after a couple of nights of observation, not even aware of the rotation image.

What is a better support for astronomical photography ... one type of holder or a German-type EQ.?
I've been at this for about a year and am looking to upgrade my telescope. Currently I have an Orion Sky View Pro go to assembly and two pipes. A 150 mm Mak Cas and a reflector of 203 mm. I recently purchased a XCM 2k SBIG ST camera and used a Nikon D40 for pictures. I have noticed that my limit before stripes is around 25 seconds, so often used T & A feature to get long shots. I'm looking for a Meade RCX LX200-ACF 12 "telescope with a fork assembly. AM I was in the right direction? My goal to have at least 10 minutes without leaving marks exhibitions. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks
A fork mount directly used for astrophotography suffer from field rotation in long-exposure astronomical. If you choose to mount the holder can overcome this problem by using the alignment equatorial (ie a wedge) for az motor drives the telescope in RA and motor units in December alt Any new machine will take some work and I suggest you keep your lenses more short and use links with the new tube initially.

114mm telescope
4.5 "telescope is even worth looking through?
I was on my way to buy a Skyliner 8 "Dobsonian and was very pleased on all examinations and all those who recommended it. But ... my uncle came to my house and told me that his friend would give me a free telescope. I canceled my order at 8 "Dobsonian telescope and received the free, but made him be a Tasco 114mm diameter = focal length = 900mm coated optical. I havent got see Through this telescope, however, as there has been no clear skies but I wonder if I look through this telescope to be disappointed and become less interested in astronomy. If anyone has had any experience with this telescope or something please answer this question. (Also appreciate if you could name what I see and how much detail I could see) thanks.
Well, ..., Sean're in a kind of pickle, eh? Do you reject the gift from a relative (lower although it may be) or hold the gift of respect for your uncle? That's really the issue here and that's a tough decision. When you live in a contaminated area light more openness is needed not less. I'm afraid I be disappointed in the scope even though it is a gift. By the way, is it a new scope that may be returned or is a has been sitting in a garage unused for years because the owner could not take her out? If the former, then no return problem the more scope there is a reason why the scope has been neglected and is about to discover. So the conclusion is, do not think you will happy with the scope and it is best at first to reject the offer and take your lumps with the family in advance rather than grudgingly accepting the scope and frustrated with a lower-quality instrument that will not hold. I feel we are in this situation. Whenever the family is involved is always hard. No matter what the scope you choose. Try challenging the list below. It will give a great first step in using the scope. Note that not all objects are available at this time of year, so you have to plan your observations.

Help me more about Telescopes please ...?
Well, I have an interest in the universe and want to buy a telescope. Is it a AstroView Orion 120ST Refractor EQ Telescope a good thing to buy for a beginner like me? Is it okay to carry and use it to another country, when I buy this? Please help me .... I like things about astronomy but I'm not going to be an astronaut. I like watching the sky, makes me feel better every time I have problems. Staring at the sky and feel the cool breeze makes me feel relaxed. I also like to study the universe. Is it okay for a 14 years old to use a telescope?
I do not recommend the Orion 120 mm refractor to anyone. I tried two samples and both had serious optical problems. A 6 - or 8-inch Dobsonian reflector assembly would a better option for most people. Okay for a 14-year-old to use a telescope. I started using a telescope when I was 16 myself. It can help an adult to give advice, Try to locate your local astronomy club. Telescopes are delicate instruments something, and be well packed, if you move to another country. Here are some websites with good information on beginner's telescopes: http://www.gaherty.ca/tme/TME0702_Buying_a_Telescope.pdf http://www.scopereviews.com/begin.html http:// observers.org / beginner / jrfbeginner.html For more advanced information, read Phil Harrington's Star Ware, 4th edition (Wiley). You will get more value for your money with a Newtonian reflector on a Dobsonian mount, such as: ~ = ~ = category_id http://www.telescope.com/control/category/ dobsonians pcategory / telescopes / ~ VIEW_INDEX = 0 / ~ VIEW_SIZE = 1000000 http://www.skywatchertelescope.net/swtinc/product. php? class1 = 1 & class2 = 106 buy in a store specializes in telescopes and astronomy, either locally or online, do not buy in department stores, discount stores or eBay as everything they sell is junk. Find Your local astronomy club and try out different telescopes at one of their star parties: I recommend that beginners http://www.skyandtelescope.com/community/organizations astrophotography steer clear until they have learned their way into the sky. Astro is by far the most expensive and difficult area of amateur astronomy. Many people who buy telescopes have no idea how to find interesting things to observe. A good introduction to what you find is Nightwatch by Terence Dickinson (Firefly). A more advanced book is Star Watch by Phil Harrington (Wiley).

What computerized telescope as the telescope Nexstar 60 GT Computerized do.?
I was thinking about buying one. Can you please tell me what the small handheld device on the side does. Is it worth it? If the answer I'll give you points!
You tell it where you are and says what to watch and automatically adjust the field for you. Is it worth it? I guess if you really want that feature, but I personally prefer have a higher quality scope rather than spending extra money on the computer.

How I can find the Milky Way with my telescope?
I am new to the stars. I'm trying to find the Milky Way with my telescope. Where do you see him? Im located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, if you need to know the location
In this time of year, the Milky Way rises in the east around 10 pm By 2:00 a.m. is directly overhead and extends all the way across the sky from north to south. You can use a telescope to look at the pieces Milky Way's small, but the use of your unaided eyes to see the whole thing. You can not see if your are near a city because of light pollution. Look at the picture of light pollution on this link to see where you go to have a dark sky. cassegrain telescope
How do planets look Maksutov Cassegrain telescope on a 90 mm?
I recently bought a telescope and tried to see Jupiter and Mars, however, they just look like really small bright spots even 180x magnification. Is this how it supposed to look?
The planets are very small and far away. 180x is the most you can expect from a 90mm telescope. At 180x with a similar scope I saw the cloud belts of Jupiter and the moons, the polar caps of Mars, Saturn's rings and three brightest moons, and the phases of Venus. Certainly the images are small, but they are definitely bigger than the points. You need be patient and see details of the practice. I recommend trying a simple pencil sketch of what you see. I found this really helped me to see fine details.

telescope 60
Is it better to start with a telescope or Go to learn the traditional way?
I looked in the NextStar 60 with goto, and the 114m SKYWATCHER that are about the same price. Is it best option is to take a telescope Go or learn the planets and stars to the old? And what is the scope over these two or should I save more and get a better scope? I'm just beginning in astronomy and there is no local club where I live because I live in the jungle!
My first telescope was a type of reflector Newtonian with no goto and really struggled to get to grips with it. I gave up the ghost and exchanged against a Meade LX90 and now I have to goto the source of I love food solved, much easier to find deep sky objects. But it is also important to learn the sky. I bought a planisphere and starry night Pro software for my PC and I'm gradually learning my way around. His great satisfaction to look up and confidently identify constellations, stars and planets. Also helps ensure that your goto scope is organized correctly and is pointing in the right direction! On second thought (no pun intended), now I have a little observation of life experiences that I could endure Newton now!

galileo telescopes for astronomy
Who was the first to use the telescope for scientific purposes? Galileo? Harriot?
My astronomy professor said it was a bad idea Galileo was the first to use telescopes for scientific research. He said that Galileo did not even invent. And on the other hand, mostly just made and Galileo sell telescopes. I'm not sure about Thomas Harriot, but he and Galileo were the only two options left for the previous exam question. All searches Google and Wikipedia articles actually do not specify the answer to this question Anyone know? Thanks!
Harriot is the first person known to have sketched the moon from a telescopic view, a few months before Galileo. It is also well known that Galileo did not invent the telescope.
