Does anyone know of a painting of a 17/18 c man with a telescope, wearing Lennon style shades.?
I think it may be an amateur scientist, but use is a white wig, a brown coat and is carrying out a brass telescope. The painting is a portrait of waist length of it - who is he who painted it and there is a picture of it somewhere?! I think the painting may be in a collection of the North of England ... The palette of earth tones is undoubtedly English. Apart from these details I can not remember much, apart from the shadow of Lennon!
