I'm considering subscribing to the service. I would like to know exactly what reading a book is like. Is it a PDF? Proprietary? Does it require some IE ActiveX gizmo? Will I be able to read the books on my PalmOS device? Can I read the books from Linux?

I am currently subscribing to their service. Certain books are being displayed in PDF format; certain books are being displayed in plain text. I am not sure about the PalmOS device; what I do know is that you can download some of those chapters as PDF files to your computer. Please note that downloading chapters as PDF files do not apply to all books and you have a monthly quota on the amount of chapters that you can download. If your PalmOS device can read PDF files, then the answer would be yes. No, you don't need some IE ActiveX, at least, not to my knowledge. And I don't see why you cannot ready books from Linux.

Good But Cheap Camera Required?

I'm building a telescope (8" reflector) and have decided to do away with the secondary mirror and place a camera at the focal point instead.

Can anyone recommend a decent but inexpensive digital camera / CCD, ideally USB, that work work well in this setup ?

Canon DSLR's are pretty decent. Other options are webcams or dedicated astronomy cameras.
