How I can find the Milky Way with my telescope?

I am new to the stars. I'm trying to find the Milky Way with my telescope. Where do you see him? Im located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, if you need to know the location

In this time of year, the Milky Way rises in the east around 10 pm By 2:00 a.m. is directly overhead and extends all the way across the sky from north to south. You can use a telescope to look at the pieces Milky Way's small, but the use of your unaided eyes to see the whole thing. You can not see if your are near a city because of light pollution. Look at the picture of light pollution on this link to see where you go to have a dark sky. Is it better to start with a telescope or Go to learn the traditional way?

I looked in the NextStar 60 with goto, and the 114m SKYWATCHER that are about the same price. Is it best option is to take a telescope Go or learn the planets and stars to the old? And what is the scope over these two or should I save more and get a better scope? I'm just beginning in astronomy and there is no local club where I live because I live in the jungle!

My first telescope was a type of reflector Newtonian with no goto and really struggled to get to grips with it. I gave up the ghost and exchanged against a Meade LX90 and now I have to goto the source of I love food solved, much easier to find deep sky objects. But it is also important to learn the sky. I bought a planisphere and starry night Pro software for my PC and I'm gradually learning my way around. His great satisfaction to look up and confidently identify constellations, stars and planets. Also helps ensure that your goto scope is organized correctly and is pointing in the right direction! On second thought (no pun intended), now I have a little observation of life experiences that I could endure Newton now!

What kind of telescope should I get?

I want a telescope that can see objects clearly Deepspace, and not too expensive. I am a beginner on the observation of stars, but I know a lot about what is out there. But I just want to see em too much instead of google images. Do you have any advice, and models of telescope? I'm open to anything. B Ok nice post, I will certainly check out Orions telescopes .. My father is real astrology for can help you find stars and the like.

I suggest that you join a local astronomy club or astronomical society before you spend your money on a scope. There are many different types of scopes and what is perfect for one person to another is not perfect. Each has its own set of eyeballs and no two are alike. If you join a club, you can attend some of their star parties and try out the scope to see what works best for you, before buying a scope. Members can also help you when you get your scope and show you how to get the most out of your new scope, and to help teach where are the treasures in heaven are. Most clubs have given scope and extensive libraries that can be more information as well. Most clubs will have monthly membership meetings with informative presentations given by members and guest speakers. You can really learn a lot from these clubs and is an added plus to all the great new friends who are there. Go to this site to find a club in your area. http://www.astroleague.org/societies/lis ... This only has clubs that belong to the National Astronomical League, so there are many more that are not listed here. Continue searching with Google you do not see one in your area here. There are different types of telescopes and they all have some excellent features. Refractors and reflectors, in addition to Schmidt Cassegrain, APO refractor, Mac-Cass, and many more. There are also several frames to choose from and over the mountains are so important, if not more important, that the scope is. All the different areas and mounts have some features that some people like and dislike. No two eyes are the same and the ideal for one person may be totally wrong for someone else. There is no scope that is "better" than other exception areas --- garbage out there that are just a waste of money. Never, ever buy at Walmart, Costco, Target, or any discount store like that. unwanted areas are flooded in the market for these stores. You're buying nothing but bad optics and plastic. If you are new to this, then stay away from anything used from anywhere. If you do not know what you're buying and that you are buying the most likely to receive from another person --- headache with no warranty either. Some great deals on used equipment are out there for people who know how to use and care of areas, but if you do not know what you're doing, you may spend much money on worthless junk. Improper cleaning can destroy a scope. Buyer Beware. I recommend: Orion http://oriontelescopes.com/ is best for the value and the customer service too. I have three of their reach and I'll just buy them from now. My first area to reach a controlled manual and I am very glad that it forced me to learn where things are in the night skies. Go-To scopes type can be frustrating. If you have not lined up exactly perfect, they find the targets. If you are a beginner, you will be frustrated unless you spring for a GPS Go-To. A locator object is just that --- will locate objects for you (should be in line first), but a locator object is not an engine monitoring system. It will not keep the scope on target. The Orion site has some excellent diagrams and explanations of all kinds of areas and supports. Things to consider are size - can the user to lift and transport the scope in the Display page easily? Do fits in your car? If not, then will gather dust in a closet. I recommend a carrying case too what is protected in storage and transport. Can the viewer reach all the controls and buttons? I have a long tube large manual refractor and it is very difficult for me to get to the buttons when I said Zenith. I'm not a man tall person. Take your time in making your decision. Some people suggest that the buying binoculars. Not a bad idea, but do not buy anything less than 10x50 and you must a tripod as well, or not be happy with your astronomical point of view as it will be very unstable from his movements. Even your pulse will shake. Personally, I prefer a scope to Binos because if binoculars are not aligned correctly at the factory, then get ghosting and distortions can not be fixed. Most cheap binoculars are not properly aligned. That's not so important for terrestrial viewing, but is a murderer for viewing astronomical. Binos can also be beaten out of alignment and become useless for astronomy. When you buy go Orion and you will not be disappointed. Do not try to learn everything at once or you will be overwhelmed and discouraged. Patience is the key to astronomy. Need a good star program successes as well. Http: / / www.stellarium.org/ This is a great freeware to download. Tell him where you are and tell you what you see. Ask a place where something is and I'll show you. I wish all the best! Enjoy! Edit: Sorry, but I have to say that astronomy and astrology are two completely different things. Astronomy is real science. Astrology is not even close to being real. You learn the difference the first time or two you go and watch our for yourself. Those of us who love astronomy are quite fussy about it.

Looking at the stars with a whole new meaning - Avenue of Stars

First, to see the stars, only had to look to the sky. Then came Hollywood, with new stars that dazzling brightness. Hollywood Walk of Fame became a tribute to his brilliance. To get a star on the Walk of Fame means you are officially a legend.

Hollywood is not the only place where stars are honored, however. Hong Kong, possibly the most metropolitan of cities in Asia, has its own Avenue of Stars, which honors artists who might not be big names in Hollywood, but they are legends own right in Asia.

Avenue of Stars was opened on 27 April, 2004, in the presence of Chinese government officials that ranging from the Financial Secretary to the President of Hong Kong Film Awards Association Limited.

It is not a piece of cake to be part of the Avenue of the Stars. Only people who have a proven record of being outstanding in their field will be further considered. Lai Wai Man (1893-1953), Lim Florence and the Butterfly Hu are three of the stars who have made enough of a mark to win his place on the Avenue of Stars. Bruce Lee deserves a statue. The decision is in the hands of the Hong Kong Film Awards Association and its affiliates, as the Journal of the City of Entertainment. Like its Hollywood counterpart, new film artists will be installed on the Avenue of the Stars regularly.

The Avenue of Stars is a project of 40 million dollars, New World Group, paying the bill, but popular consensus is that it's worth every penny.

Thought to make yourself a star spotting while in Hong Kong? Do not forget to visit all the historic and religious sites of ancient China and enjoy a cup of coffee in the modern city full of relief as well. A hotel Kowloon perhaps ideal for accommodation, providing easy access to both sides of the city. If you are especially in luxury target = "_blank"> Langham Hotel Hong Kong can easily exceed your expectations. It is known as one of the best hotels in Hong Kong.

What are some really good points star player in Northern California?

I live in the Bay Area and wanted to surprise bring someone to a really good star gazing area because he always wanted to go. I do not mind driving up to four or five hours away, and I was considering Glacier Point in Yosemite if I could not find anything else. I heard a lot about travel and some "star parties, but most just want be able to lay out under the stars all night. Any good places?

Here is a cool site I just found out tonight: http://www.jshine.net/astronomy/dark_sky/ It combines an existing map in the world of light pollution (satellite data) with Google Maps. The simple fact in a green should be a major improvement, but blue and gray areas are the best. As you can see, most of the Sierra Nevada is quite good, except the corridor of the road to Reno and Tahoe. The darker side California is the farthest corner of the Northeast, but that's a long journey. Another good place is the area surrounding the Lassen Volcanic National Park. The Sky & Telescope site site has an article on Light Pollution Atlas, which is based on the old site: The author http://www.skyandtelescope.com/community/skyblog/stargazing/47070002.html notes that the real darkness of the sky (which can be measured with a meter) is not exactly the same as what is shown in the Atlas Light Pollution. For practical purposes, however, the first website mentioned above should be a very good guide. For much of the year, if you want to clear dark skies, it is better heading into regions Southern California desert. In the summer, however, the area around Lassen is a great place. There are more local points halfway decent skies. For example, Mines Road (Ranging from the Livermore area of the back of the Mount Hamilton) is relatively dark, but it is a very winding. Point Reyes can be good as long as there is no fog coastal and he is looking in a direction opposite to San Francisco and Highway 101.

What is the difference between astronomy telescopes and telescopes for stargazing?

I am thinking of buying a telescope I do not know the difference between them. I want to use my telescope for just looking at Saturn, Mars and other planets, perhaps near the stars to see what I can see and space station and satellites!

the same difference between a bat hitting basball designed for one designed for batting.

Where to Buy Telescope

Wondering where to buy telescopes? There are many options to go with. In this article we will examine all options and see what is the best choice in where to buy a telescope. Join me as you look at the purchase of telescopes. The hobby of astronomy backyard is large with hundreds of thousands of users worldwide telescope. Although this may seem a huge number, the truth is not as common as video games, so while the Nintendo Wii and Sony PlayStation can be found in all the streets and malls, the truth is that the search telescope shops need a little more research. One point to realize at this point is that asking where to buy a telescope, a telescope and then look at a toy store will not cut it. Small telescopes because a lot problems and do not produce much results. To enter you need a good astronomical telescope manufacturer of real telescopes. These telescopes come with names like Meade, Celestron and Orion. specialty stores can be found, however, generally requires some travel to find them. So the question is where to buy telescope If a store telescope is 4 hours drive and you do not want to make such trips to buy a telescope. There are other options, for example, there is a direct message, and the best way to respond to where to buy telescope with this method is to look at magazines like Sky & Telescope Telescope. The problem is that these places do not usually include pictures, but a description Line 1! Another solution is to search online and this is what we always recommend that when people ask me about where to buy a telescope. This is huge because there are lots and lots of online stores telescope. These stores offer many benefits Telescope crashes retail stores in June! Benefits include the prices of cinema, and a number shear of the selection. With these online stores are much better prices because of savings through online stores. They do not need as many sales people who do not need expensive retail space, and usually receive many more orders. The result is to pass these savings on to you. The other benefit to buying online is to deliver to your home! If you were to buy from a store, you have to take into account the gas to get there and back, over prices because you are buying at a retail store, and have to carry it, etc. When you purchase online is a much more simple and less than 24 hours could have a telescope! You never have to ask where to buy telescope! The only problem is that you can not see the real telescope before buying. Most stores however will give you all the information you need to make a good decision and get the best. About the Author

Telescopes ...?

Throughout my life I've been interested in astronomy ... But I finally decided to go out and buy a telescope. I come across one that is not expensive ... I want to know if the specifications are good. or if anyone has any advice for other telescopes. Celestron AstroMaster 114 EQ Reflector Telescope Recommended Usage: Astrophotography, Viewing Galaxies / clusters, nebulae Videos, Videos of the Moon, Viewing the Planets Warranty: One-year limited-2 Brand: Celestron Use: For the beginner Weight: 17 lbs. StarPointer aluminum coating lens: Fixed GPS: Finderscope: No Go to: Nothing good for astrophotography: Yes Telescopes Series: AstroMaster Series Telescopes Optical Design: Reflector Aperture: 114mm Focal Length: 1000mm Focal ratio: f / 9 Mount Design: CG-2 Equatorial an eye: 20 mm (50x) Eye 2: 10mm (100x) More Useful Magnification: 200 Star Diagonal: 1.25 "User Level: beginners

A telescope's performance depends on the sum of its parts. As advances in astronomy, you will begin to move away from the idea of an all-inclusive kit and begin to assemble their own mix of components. The biggest problem with most beginner areas is that it is a kit, and trying to include everything you require to spend money on a range of accessories cheap or useless. The area you are viewing is a decent starting point. You'll probably want to replace the pointer "star fixed "with a 50 mm telephoto lens (which will make things much easier to find), add a good 32 mm eyepiece to view low power, unless the star diagonal of another area (usually in the path of a reflector), and add a unit of low-cost clock for EQ-2. This one works well: category_id = ~ drives_controllers http://www.telescope.com/control/product/ / ~ product_id = 07 827 I also finally add a good 2x Barlow lens to double the operating range of your device eye. (For example, 10mm, 20mm, 32mm eye to become barlow 5 mm, 10mm, 16mm). That illustrates why do not usually want to buy both the 10 and 20mm eyepiece, but would have been better with a 10 and 25mm. Make these changes and you'll be well on your way to convert "the scope beginners" in a 114mm overall good reflector. ps. If you can swing, this is a much better: category_id = reflectors http://www.telescope.com/control/product/ ~ / ~ = telescopes pcategory / ~ Product_id = 09 851

The Keck Telescope on Mauna Kea

The natural sciences, as their name implies, the study of the phenomena that occur in nature, and although our knowledge This is growing every day, we still have limitations on what we know and how we can observe nature. In the science of astronomy, making a study of heavens, we are actually limited by the air in our atmosphere, which contributes to the dim light coming from and interferes with our views of space.

But sometimes, nature itself seems to help us in our limitations. The twin Keck telescopes, located in the dormant volcano Mauna Kea, is an example of how conditions have allowed us to overcome natural limitations that we would find almost everywhere on Earth, and advance the cause of science. There are several features that made Mauna Kea the perfect place to put the powerful Keck telescope.

Height

Mauna Kea is the highest point in Hawaii, but even beyond that, technically is the highest mountain in the world. Everest has claim to the highest elevation, but Mauna Kea is the best in size to over 33,000 feet. While more half of it is underwater, the remaining part of the mountain above sea level still puts this observatory at the top where air is thin and where there is very little steam water in the air. This means that the Keck telescopes to obtain a view with less interference than it is in the air than most places on earth.

Singing Land

Locating a high mountain observatory is ideal for preventing pollution in the atmosphere, but one would think that to get the summit would be difficult to handle. However, Mauna Kea, not only the height, a key element. This is what is called a shield volcano, which means that their sides have a very shallow slope, which makes road transport materials and people to the top of a piece of cake. Because of this, construction and staffing of the Keck telescopes was easy thing to do.

In addition, despite being a chain of islands formed by volcanic activity, the region around Mauna Kea is very stable. In addition, lava flows in Hawaii tend to be small and manageable, so in the unlikely event of an eruption, the Keck telescopes danger would be minimal.

The perfect place

The beautiful beaches and good weather are not the reason of the Keck telescopes in Hawaii are found, but miles of ocean around the Hawaiian Islands are a good reason for seeking a place dedicated to astronomy. Because most of the area around the islands Hawaii is the ocean, there are fewer places where cities and towns can be built, reducing light pollution from street lamps, lamps, etc..

This means the stars in the sky have less light from the bottom to compete. Little things like this would be difficult to find anywhere else in the world, and because of this, Keck telescopes are located in one of the most perfect unique way to study the stars in. This is one of the few times in the very nature seems to conspire to help study the universe around us.

how many megapixels is the Hubble telescope made?

and also a digital camera?

The ACS camera is 4096x4096. However, it is now dead. Maybe will get fixed in the repair mission. That would be cool. This is the camera that was used for the image of an extrasolar planet. But the HST have multiple cameras and other detectors. The cameras are digital. The HST has no way of developing the film, and after the Earth. With digital, you data can be transmitted down. But my favorite instrument is the HST FGS. There are three Fine Guidance Sensors. You can measure the distance between two stars with more precision than anything else ever made, and to magnitude 19.

All About Using Exhibition Equipment

People can often get confused exhibition team, maybe they are new to the creation of an exhibition and are not familiar with its operation. Things like banner stands, raise flags, pop-up displays, light boxes, digital displays and many display more, are just a couple of things necessary for the placement of an impressive installation in any exhibition. These are so used to represent the company and used as a way of drawing public attention.

Most of this equipment are available at low cost and can be contracted from virtually all occupational exposure of the screen. Almost all equipment is easy to assemble and require only one person who created them. Some people may not knowing the difference between raising banners and pop-up stands. The easiest way to describe what the differences is the way it is set up / set up and how graphics display banners.

Pull up banners stands are self-giving full effect when placed vertically on the screen. They work by taking the graphic or banner at the bottom of the panel, which is then connected to a telescopic bar at the top. This is self-sufficient, because the force is removed, which is hooked one end other. They look like a thin, almost like a strip of wallpaper, which is always a digitally designed screen graphics.

Most banners pull-up is about 2 meters high and about 1 meter wide, making it a very versatile piece of equipment. They can be used for business sales, presentation sales, major exhibitions, exhibition pieces for businesses, hospitals, shopping malls and more. If portability is a problem, raise the banners are ideal for people to use if you need to transport from one place to another. In cases like these, it is important to purchase flags that are light in weight and with a protective case.

Pop-up is being rebuilt and cut into its framework. They often have separate parts to maintain consistent positions. They can be large in size and generally act as the main piece of computer to display the company brand and draw public attention to the speakers. They can be in the form of towers, curved or L-shaped. Flat screens can incorporate pop-ups LCD screens and a lot of extra posters and displays.

Both are good to attract the right kind of attention and are just as effective by itself alone. The idea of an exhibition to show the company and its services, bringing in more business and showing your brand. It is therefore important to know what speakers to use when organizing a large event.
