What computerized telescope as the telescope Nexstar 60 GT Computerized do.?

I was thinking about buying one. Can you please tell me what the small handheld device on the side does. Is it worth it? If the answer I'll give you points!

You tell it where you are and says what to watch and automatically adjust the field for you. Is it worth it? I guess if you really want that feature, but I personally prefer have a higher quality scope rather than spending extra money on the computer.
