Telescopic view additional relief visual long

An achromatic lens sight, commonly called a scope, is an optical device used to achieve additional accuracy using a focus of firearms, pistols air and crossbows. Other targeting systems are iron sights, sights reflex, and experiments sights. The laser focused on giving first aid shooters optical dating back to the 17th century. For centuries, various optical aids and primitive predecessors of telescopic objective points of interest were created there were limitations practices or performance. The first apochromatic refractor based telescopic sight was built in 1880 by August Fiedler (Stronsdorf, Austria), forest inspector of Prince Reuss. Telescopic view additional relief visual long are available for the pistol and rifle use scout. A historical example of a scope with long eye relief is German ZF41 that was used during the Second 98k World War musket rifles.

Telescopic sights are classified according to optical magnification and the diameter of the target, for example, 10 × 50. This increases denote 10 times with a 50 mm lens objective. In general, large objective lens diameter, due to its ability to raise large amounts light, provide a larger exit pupil and hence provide a brighter image in the eyepiece. The attractions of the fixed magnification power and diameter enlargement objective should be chosen based on the intended use.

There are also attractions apochromatic telescope with variable magnification. The increase can vary manually operating a zoom mechanism. variable sites offer more flexibility in shooting at different ranges, the objectives and conditions light and offer a wide field of view in relation to low magnification settings. The syntax of variable sites is as follows: increase minimum - maximum x increase the objective lens, for example, 3.9 × 40.

Confusingly, some older telescopic sights, mainly of German or European manufacture, have a different classification in the second part of the name refers to 'the light gathering power. "In these cases, an increase of 4 × 81 (4 ×) view can be assumed to have an image brighter than 2.5 × 70 view (2.5 × magnification), but the objective lens diameter can not be saved directly related to image brightness, as brightness is affected also by the magnification factor. Normally objective achromatic lenses are smaller attractions that in early modern places in these examples, the 4 × 81 would have a target of about 32 mm in diameter and 2.5 × 70 may be about 25mm.

Compare the role of the objective lens of a telescope with an objective?

Compare the role of the objective lens of a telescope with the objective a microscope. In each case, you want a small or large focal length? Why? Where is the object? Where and what type of image is formed? Compare the function of the eye in both instruments. Do you want a small or large focal length? Why? Where is your "thing"? Where and what kind of image is formed?

Nikon D90 review

One of the main attractions of this month had to be the Nikon D90, which is also the most expensive camera we've tested so far. Nikon introduced the D90 to replace D80 trust. The D80 is one of the best entry level mid-range cameras from Nikon.

The D90 has so much to prove before it can earn its place. Passing through the key features D90, certainly looks impressive. The D90 uses a CMOS sensor, 12.3 MP sensor rise from the 10.2 MP CCD sensor of the D80. The sensor size remains unchanged. Most entry level cameras are supplied with a 18-55 mm lens that can be very limiting for the type of pictures you can take. We received the camera with a DX-Nikkor 18-105 mm VR zoom lens.

This makes a good all-purpose computer wide angle and telescopic shot. The shape and size of the D90 is slightly bigger than the D60 we saw a few months ago. It's a little heavier than the D60 and D80 itself. The body is plasticy, but it feels very sturdy and the buttons are large as expected in any Nikon D-SLR.

The D90 now comes with a 3 inch screen that is incredibly vibrant and crisp. The other thing that makes the digital camera interesting is the inclusion of Live View that allows you to use the LCD to focus.

This is a feature rarely found on D-SLR. The D90 is without doubt one of the easiest operate the cameras, if you have a basic knowledge of using a decent camera point and shoot. All camera functions such as ISO, white balance, exposure metering and focus modes, can be accessed by clicking the appropriate button and rotating the dial. The shutter speed and aperture size have dedicated brand.

It is very difficult to criticize the D90 in the quality as well. The 12.3 MP CMOS sensor does its job well. Photos are sharp throughout the aperture range complete. The aim is not made for macro photography, so have difficulty with close shots. Yes, great close-ups can be triggered backing , and zooming into the target. Good depth of field can also be easily accomplished. The flash is powerful and good enough for indoor photography from time to time.

Auto mode works well with the autofocus. The approach is instant and no delay. There are a few hiccups autofocus time to time, but nothing that can not be fixed using the other autofocus modes support. As expected of any digital SLR camera, the manual mode gives total control of the camera. You will not be disappointed with the D90, if you like to select a default scenario, either - a dial to be present.

Another new feature is almost never seen in the D-SLR is the video recording. The D90 can capture up to 1280x720 resolution videos at 24 frames per second. What makes it even more special is that you can zoom and focus manually while recording video. Video quality is great and the frame rate fairly stable, but that you need to buy a fast SD / SDHC for it.

We would be lying if we say that we were not impressed with the D90. It's full of surprises. The camera is incredibly easy to use, has the performance, features, and is certainly light years ahead of the D80 in all aspects. Nikon has another winner on its hands and recommend this option if you have a serious interest in photography and also the money.

The Nikon D90 with the lens is priced at a whopping Rs. 89 890. The body itself can be bought for Rs. 69 950. This makes the D90 almost as expensive as the D300. It has more meaning if you spend more and go for the D300 instead.

Nikon lenses are known to be cheaper than some other brands, so you buy only one body and then a good lens can also be a good move. If you do not need the live view or video recording and even small changes Nikon has done, and then the older D80 is a better buy, especially with its price more favorable to the portfolio.

astronomy binoculars.?

hello all, I just found a wicked prog called "Stellarium" and has re-sparked my interest astronomy. i cannot afford a telescope yet, because I am a student with no money, but I own a pair of binoculars - 12x50 praktica great sport angle of 6 degrees. Am I able to detect planets like Saturn and Venus with this? (Its a cloudy night atm so i cannot test) and how it would look Orion nebula? How much I have to spend on a reasonably decent telescope? beginner astronomer! thanks for the answers tom

Saturn and Venus are visible to the naked eye, so are easily visible in 12x50 binoculars. With the binoculars will soon be able to see the phase of Venus (at the moment is approaching) and brightest of Saturn, Titan. You will not be able to see Saturn's rings, requiring about 25x when well placed, and are not well placed at this time. Remember that telescopes Galileo were not much more powerful than binoculars. There was a little increase (about 20x), but less open and the large amount of chromatic aberration more. The Orion Nebula will look great in binoculars, especially in a dark sky. Will the Zhumell Eclipse 114 with Motor Drive Telescope Reflector good.?

What does the motor unit to do? I know it says that helps find things easier. But I do not understand how or what it really means ... Also, what are the parts of the eye to? Here is the link to the telescope ... Http://www.telescopes.com/telescopes/reflecting-telescopes/zhumelleclipse114withmotordrivetelescope.cfm Thank you.

No, this a telescope is very poor, and I would not recommend it to anyone. Use a short focal ratio mirror ball and a Barlow lens built to achieve its focal length, this design is difficult to adjust and suffers from serious flaws that prevent it from increasing optical more than about 100 times. The tripod and mount are unstable and will be very difficult for a beginner to operate. The motor unit compensates for the rotation of the Earth once you've found something, but not easy to search anything easier. The eye provide different magnifications here. there are few websites with good information on beginner's telescopes: http://www.gaherty.ca/tme/TME0702_Buying_a_Telescope.pdf jrfbeginner.html http://www.scopereviews.com/begin.html http://observers.org/beginner/ For more advanced information, read Phil Harrington's Star Ware, 4th edition (Wiley). which is best for sky watch through telescope? eye piece or 2x/3x barlow?

I am having konus 130mm, 1000mm focal length telescope. i am having 17mm and 10mm plosal eyepiece. I am satisfied with lens. but i want large image. i want to buy either 4/5 mm eyepiece or barlow to megnify my image. which is best option ?

Go with the 2x barlow lens. Having it will immediately double the size of your eyepiece collection, and if you use it in conjunction with the the 10mm Plössl it will be equivalent to having a 5mm.

Do keep in mind that with magnifications that high on a smaller aperture telescope like yours, the only things you'll be able to look at are planets since everything else is going to be too dim.

How to clean your new acrylic awnings

The new awnings you purchased for your home are most likely made from a synthetic solution dyed acrylic fabric.  The most recognizable brand name of this fabric is Sunbrella, other brand names are Dickson Constant, Recacril, Sattler, and Tempotest.  All these fabrics have been treated during the manufacturing process with water repellants and mildew inhibitors.  Cleaning the awnings will affect this treatment so it is a good idea to retreat the fabric once cleaning has been completed and fabric is dry.  The following is a quick guide to effectively cleaning your awnings and treating them in order to ensure a long life for your awnings while looking great.

Step 1:  Determine the fabric your awnings have been manufactured from.  If they are any material other than solution dyed acrylic then do not use these instructions.  Some of the other materials used in residential awnings include cotton, vinyl, and coated polyesters.  If you have trouble determing the fabric your awnings are made from then call the manufacturer/installer and inquire.  Most companies keep these records readily available.

Step 2:  Be safe!!  If you are going to clean the awnings while they are still on their frames make sure you use the proper ladders in order to reach the awnings.  If you clean the awnings after you have taken them down for the season then make sure you clean them on a smooth clean surface.

Step 3:  To clean the awning properly you will need a soft bristle brush.  Preferably one with a telescoping handle.  Mix a solution of Dawn dishwashing detergent ( or ivory snow )  and water to start with, this solution should take care of most of the common dirt found on awnings.  Rinse the awning first to get the fabric wet and then brush the solution onto the awning, brush up and down and diagonally.  Rinse well to ensure all detergent has been rinsed away.

For stubborn stains that remain on the awning following a basic cleaning you will need to use a different method and cleaning agents.  The following are some of the most common stains found on awnings and the method used to get rid of these stains.

Mildew:  Use 1 cup of bleach and 2 ounces of Dawn dishwashing liquid and one gallon of warm water.  Let the solution soak into the fabric for 30 minutes and then follow the instructions above.  Be careful to wear gloves and eye protection and be aware of whatever else is in the vicinity of your awning that could be affected by the bleach solution.  With this method it is best to clean the awning away from the house, shrubbery, flowers , etc.

Tree sap:  Use turpentine directly on the sap and then the solution of Dawn dishwashing liquid/water.

Bird droppings:  Dry bird droppings can sometimes be lightly scraped away. Try this first if you can reach the offending birds parting gift.  Once you have done this then attack the rest of it with Goo Gone Grease Cutter, Greased lightning or Clean Rite Purple Power.

Grease/Oil:  Use a volatile solvent (acetone).  Then use soap and water. Again as with any powerful cleaner be aware of what is around the awning.  Also wear eye protection and gloves.  As with any strong chemical follow the manufacturers recommendations regarding the safe handling of their product.

Step 4:  After the awning has dried completely.  Retreat your fabric with 303 Fabric Guard.

If you follow these steps you will prolong the life of your awnings while keeping them looking great.

How does a newtonian reflecting telescope work?

My new telescope has piqued my curiosity--More specifically, why is it that when looking into the eyepiece we don't see the cross shaped mount for the diagonal mirror (or the mirror itself?) in the image? I can't get my head around the problem and it's been so long since I did optic physics that I've pretty much forgot how it all worked....

The central obstruction is before the light is focussed by the telescope. Consider a star anywhere in the field of view. What point of the mirror does the light from that star hit? It should be obvious that if you ignore the central obstruction the light from that one star shines on the entire surface of the mirror, not just one point.

The whole job of the telescope is to sort out these rays of light so that there is a 1:1 correlation between the _direction_ of incoming light rays and the _position_ of those light rays on the focal plane. So the light of stars in the middle of the field of view hit the edges of the mirror and are directed to the centre of the image further along the optical path.

The "hole" in the image is all over the image in the form of lost light making a dimmer image, not concentrated in one position of the resulting image.

Jeep Design Spreads Its Wings to be More Iconic

The Chrysler Group’s Jeep brand is spreading its wings to explore a new design philosophy. The exploration of the new design is aimed at making the Jeep brand more iconic than before.

In connection with the said new design philosophy, the automaker will be combining the Trailhawk concept with Jeep’s core off-road features seen on the new body-on-frame four-door Wrangler Unlimited. The Jeep Trailhawk concept is basically a refined all-new on-road open-air concept vehicle that is equipped to provide a unique and fresh expression for Jeep.

Built off the new Wrangler platform, the Trailhawk is a more refined highway cruiser without sacrificing any of Jeep's legendary off-road capabilities. "The key to the look of the Trailhawk," said Nick Vardis, the principal exterior designer, "is the vehicle's distinctive proportions, due in part to its 116-inch wheelbase. The dash-to-front-axle dimension is dramatically long, giving the vehicle a sense of forward motion, while the front and rear overhangs are tight and abbreviated."

Vardis added that the body side is muscular and broad-shouldered, with the sheet metal pulled into shape, much like a drawn arrow in the bow of a skilled archer. In addition, the pillars are pulled back to create a more dramatic effect. The forward motion of the Jeep Trailhawk concept is further emphasized by the drive of the raising beltline. The said aura is not worthy of being camouflaged by the Jeep Bestop car cover and aficionados say that it has to be flaunted.

Jeep's fundamental design cues include the broad stance, wheels pushed to the corners and enclosed in hearty flares, and unique trapezoidal shape. "The flares are stretched and pulled taut at one end," Vardis said. "Each presents a 'long side' angled toward the center of the body."

"The main headlamp units are cropped diagonally across the top," said Vardis. "They peer out from an angled brow, giving the vehicle its bold, sinister look. In front view, the left and right lamps evoke the hooded eyes of a bird of prey. "Like other concepts, we first viewed the math surface of the grille and headlamps together in the computer" added Vardis. "We immediately noticed the hawkish expression, hence the name 'Trailhawk.’” The taillamps take off the look of the headlamps, including the striped turn signals, with the surface of the liftgate carved.

The concept’s long hood is fronted by the automaker’s signature seven-slot grille angled rearward to blend the lean-back surface of the forward flares, with the slots filled with a mesh texture. Bracketed between the flares and the grille, the headlamps imitate the lean-back stance. Underneath the apparent flush lenses, HID projector beam quad lamps snuggled into twin "telescopic" polished aluminum barrels light the way forward while LEDs, configured in parallel stripes supply park and turn signals.

"The Jeep Trailhawk interior emphasizes the vehicle's open air-freedom, inviting elements of the exterior theme into the interior," said Cliff Wilkins who is responsible for the interior design. "Tough mechanical elements which evoke exterior details are contrasted with sophisticated materials and finishes to give a modern, rugged, purposeful interior while delivering a premium off-road experience."

"The open console's unique utility is enhanced by the relocation of the transfer case 'Terrain Selector' switch to the center stack of the I/P," said Wilkins. "Also, there is the use of an electronic gear selector/park brake lever mounted to the right side of the steering column to continue this effect."

Extra storage is available forward of the drop-open center stack control module, and in the lower door trim panels. "One of the most remarkable things about the interior," concluded Wilkins, "is that it was designed and surfaced entirely electronically-there were no traditional sketches or 3-D models. Even so, the interior turned out just as we had envisioned."

Help with a telescope for my son please !!!?

I know nothing about these...but my 6 year old son wants a telescope to see stars and planets. Im posting 2 descriptions and prices....can someone tell me which is better PLEASE :)

1. 525x Telescope With Carry Case
Was $109.99; Now $69.99 Features 6X, 25mm finderscope with crosshairs, 1X erecting eyepiece, 4 interchangeable lenses, alt-azimuth mount and diagnonal viewer. Focal length: 700mm; objective diameter: 60mm. Includes aluminum tripod, Cyber Sky software CD for tracking stars, and instruction manual. Ages 10 and up.

or...........

2. KonuSpace - 4 Junior Telescope $49.99
50mm (1.9") Telescope & Zoom Spotting Scope with Table Tripod
Whats more convenient than two viewing instruments in one! The 100x telescope for astronomical use has two eyepieces included- 100x and 48x.
The 28x zoom spotting scope for terrestrial use features a zoom eyepiece with 6x to 28x magnifications.
Includes 90 degrees diagonal mirror. Focal length equals 600mm and focal ratio f/12.

Either of those is a marvelously bad choice.

Binoculars isn't a bad idea, but also you might see if you have a local astronomical society that you could bring him to visit.

That way, he'd get to view through some good telescopes, and if it turns out he's interested, the people there can hopefully give you some good advice.

The least expensive scope worth buying will be a Dobsonian. Orion sells one for about $200. Any telescope that advertises it's power is apt to be a frustrating toy to use, and do more harm than good. Astronomy should be fun.

My scope is a state of the art one priced like a reasonably nice new car, and I'd never try to go up to 525x with it.

telescope eyepieces?

Can some one please tell me why telescope manufactuers include 4mm or stronger eyepieces with their scopes smaller than a 6inch scope.I,ve got a 90mm meade with 1000mm f/l and when I use the 4mm eye piece I can't get a good clear image because the little 3 1/2 inch lense doesn't gather enough light to support it...Sorry for the rant but it just makes me mad that they add the higher powered eyepiece so they can promote a higher magnification rate.....

The maximum usable magnification for a given Telescope is approximately 50 times the aperture diameter in inches.
Your 90mm (~3 1/2") telescope has a maximum usable magnification of around 175X. Under Excellent conditions!!!. ( which in my neck of the woods happens about a handful of times a year) The 4mm eyepiece produces a magnification of 250X !!, way over the max limit. As a consequence, the image is very blurry and gets worse as magnification increases. These high mag eyepieces are pure Hype and are included solely for the purpose of advertising." 675 Power Telescope" sounds good, but is truly nonsense.
I always tell folks: " whenever you see a telescope advertised by it's magnification, run the other way"
Most folks get the best views around 20X to 40X times the aperture in inches. For your telescope, get a good quality eyepiec of around 10 to 12mm focal length, it will be the one you use most often.
Also, get a decent eyepiece of around 30 to 32mm focal length for wide field views and to use when trying to find stuff in the sky. It's wide field of view make it much easier to locate things.

Why can I only see Mars as a tiny dot with my telescope?

I just bought a telescope Celestron Astromaster 114 EQ, and using the 10mm lens, all I see of Mars is a tiny bright dot, using Barlow x2, it's quite fuzzy. Used different filters, different lens, but the result is the same.

I understand that it is a small planet and that it's far, but still

Except when it is very close to the Earth (which won't happen again until about a decade from now) Mars is never much more than a bright dot in most amateur telescopes. Even when close, Mars is disappointing except in large, high quality telescopes under excellent seeing conditions. Jupiter and Saturn are far more rewarding planetary targets.

tasco 500x114mm Galaxsee Reflector Telescope?

good morining i have a 500x114 telescope details are
Telescope Type: Reflector
Objective Lens Diameter: 114mm
Focal Length: 1000mm
Focal Ratio: 9
Mount: Equatorial 1
Barlow: 2X
Interchangeable Eyepieces: (1.25") MA20 (50X), MA10 (100X)

does anyone know what should i be able to see with this ? i have no idea how to use it, it came with a 10,000 item sighting CD but its so confusing to use, anyone here pro enough to tell me what should i be able to view with this scope, or any websites that can tell me what i can view...

thanks for your help

This is similar to my first telescope. With it I was able to see the Moon, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn, many double stars, and over 50 deep sky objects, mostly open and globular clusters, but also some diffuse and planetary nebulae and galaxies. It's an OK beginner's telescope.

There are a number of books which will help you learn to use your scope and find these things with it. Try NightWatch by Terence Dickinson (Firefly), Turn Left At Orion by Consolmagno and Davis (Cambridge) or Star Watch by Phil Harrington (Wiley). Joining a local astronomy club may also help, since clubs usually hold observing sessions where the more experienced mebers help the beginners to find things in the sky.

One piece of advice. Don't bother using the 10mm eyepiece or the Barlow lens, as these are usually junk. The instructions which come with Tasco scopes are usually poorly written. Try using these instructions for a similar scope instead:
