Beam Me Up - Hid Kits & Why you should not be afraid of the dark

Despite this success, HID xenon kits are still considered as a vital member and desirable landscape full of aftermarket, where you can find by the gross, who insisted throughout cyberspace. This leads us to an obvious question: is on the hunt for its own HID? If so, let's look at some things that can help you find the best set of torches high technology to fit the front of sled.

HID or HID? And what does it mean anyway

Although is rather laughable, actually there are heated discussions on internet forums as to whether it is known as HID or HID really does not matter. Both mean exactly the same, so if you are looking for a debate here, you will not find one. But HID is an acronym that stands for high intensity discharge. High Intensity Discharge Lighting has lived more than you may think, having appeared most of two decades ago, and has been used everywhere from sports stadiums, theaters, places construction, and in more recent times, the headlights of the car. Known worldwide for its tremendous light output and profitable life, technology HID is still seen as innovative and cutting-edge, simply because it is much more advanced compared to "halogen bulbs every day."

How it works

It all starts with xenon gas. Xenon gas is a colorless heavy element when heated, a great driver reach enlightenment. That is why HID kits normally see advertised as "Xenon HID Kits." The process goes a little something like this: first, a current power was a liability. The job of a ballast is to maintain the current and provide power for starting the HID bulb. The Xenon gas inside the bulb (s) heated. Once it's hot (which is in fractions of a second), a brand extremely bright and powerful light is emitted, complete the effect. With a car, the current ballasts use electric battery is derived. And of course, new HID bulbs replace the original halogens. Any connection cables or components are easily subject to the areas under its hood, and can be accessed quickly if necessary.

Well, okay. Is it really that big of a difference?

This is probably the question asked most-HID xenon kits are really superior to regular headlights or lights projector? And the answer is a resounding "YES." This is not mere opinion. Xenon HID headlamps are able to produce a light level which is equivalent sun. In other words, up to five times brighter than halogen bulbs. It is very difficult to compete with that kind of power. Does this mean that you are traveling in an unsafe manner because it still has original halogen headlamps? Not really. But it would be naive of anyone to assume that their level of driving safety is not is dramatically increased by the use of a Xenon HID kit. Here are some notes to be taken into account. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, approximately 1.5 million accidents occur at night, with an additional 600, 000 that occur during rain or inclement weather. While that should not be a shock, is a little alarming when you consider the growing number of cars on the road. Couple that with more and more drivers are arming themselves with HID headlamps, and what we is a real effect direct train that can not be ignored. In short, the more people who have them, the more sure we'll all be. In addition to the enormous light output HID Xenon lights are capable of, also spread to a much more complete and coupling beam that carries all the way forward in focus. Stop signs, street names, highway exits. Deer, animals, or even ordinary people from much farther away than ever. HID lights also knife through rain and fog with a lot more vigor than halogen lamps. It is the unparalleled level of security HID headlights states that has become so acceptable an option for drivers of all ages and backgrounds.

"The Look": HID Kits as a fashion statement

Obviously, driving safety is not always the main reason people have lined up to get their hands on a Xenon HID kit. HID kits are so associated with futuristic as it is traveling caution. That's not is a bad thing. accessories are the automotive industry, where one goes to something that is "hot" or fashion is often also is safe and logical. HID headlights happen to fall into that category. HID lamps, drivers have the potential to add a touch of bronze which undoubtedly produces quite a different effect than halogen factory. color tones are determined by the light output, measured in K (Kelvin). The higher the K, the deeper the color. Options range from 3000K to be normally the whiter end of the spectrum of 15000K, which is the unmistakable blue you have surely noticed on the track at one time or another.

Installation: No Sweat is!

It is understandable that many car owners whether or not the height of the installation of an HID conversion kit. Trust me when I say this: anyone can do it! All that really means is to find the points under the hood where you need to connect the components. Each kit comes with assembly instructions and reinforcements, so they should not have to go and buy an additional "hardware" (If your computer requires additional components has bought the wrong kit.) Once done, the rest is simple. Of course, access to the headlights and the battery terminal differ for each car. Then I have included some suggestions that I hope will increase their confidence of installation (if you need any)!

1) Know your bulb size!

2) Make task. Check your vehicle manual for the exploration of the content under the hood. Knowing where everything is ahead of time. Too often, drivers buy HID conversion kits and try to do everything at once. While rapid installation, it does not hurt to be prepared for when things go once they have the equipment in his possession.

3) Fix a pair of rubber gloves. HID Xenon bulbs are extremely sensitive. Natural oils or dirt from your fingers can corrupt the bulbs, depriving them efficiency. If you use your bare hands, be sure to not touch the glass lamp bulbs.

Four) Perform installation during the day or in a well-lit garage. While this may sound trite, is too important to not mention. You're going to have to test the HID system to ensure proper operation. This means ensuring that the cables and components are in the right places. There is nothing worse than fumbling around with wires and the like, when there is work to do!

Kit that is the best? There are many different brands of HID xenon kits out there, it's easy to get lost in the fray. When searching for HID kit, you want take a couple of things into consideration. The type of lighting output you want (K), tone, and of course, the price range. At this time, Conversion Kits SE Notto HID are gaining much attention. SE Notto HID kits are of high quality, versatile, good price and easy to install. They also come in all outputs / tones of 3000K to 15000K, so you have a full spectrum of options. There are many fine kits out there, but I would recommend Notto SE kits just because it seems to have everything going for it. To the Like anything else, you have to carry out its own investigation. See what is out there and what makes sense for you, your car and your budget. But no hesitation in getting involved in the revolution HID! With HID xenon kits, you need not fear the dark anymore!

What is the difference in leveling equipment and a lift kit?

"I wonder what is the difference between a team of leveling and a lift kit is from my truck to get bigger tires. (97 Nissan xe and want the 29-inch tires).

A team is simply leveling coil spring spacers that just lift the front of his truck about 2 ". A lift kit lifts the entire truck. If you raise your Nissan at least 2 inches in front, you will have no problem getting a 31 "tire.

Will we see IPAD webcam / camera accessories?

recently purchased a new fresh IPAD Apple store brand. I know there webcam / camera for available for IPAD, but I asked is there any such accessories IPAD. Will we see IPAD webcam / camera accessories? This means we can use the Dock to connect the webcam. Please help me.

href = "http://install-how.blogspot.com/2010/05/will-we-see-ipad-webcamcamera.html"> Re: Will we see IPAD webcam / camera accessories?
Although IPAD no USB interface, the number of affected users to store photos or video. Fortunately, Apple officially launched the first kit to connect a camera, but the price of parts and the quantity, presumably this is a major concern of customers. After all, no one was willing to spend much money on accessories, but why these accessories is essential. The good news is, now Apple's online store has announced finally IPAD camera connector kit price - $ 29, about 198 yuan, is not that this price is acceptable? In late April can be sent in any delay IPAD in the enjoyment of photos from your camera.

Re: Will we see
IPAD webcam / accessories?
IPAD camera adapter in the official website of Apple's $ 29 price. If you want to save money, IPAD camera adapter that the iPod adapter (Originally designed for use through the USB connection, with the iPod to access photos stored on the camera) is similar, must be universal, you are a big mistake over all evil.

href = "http://install-how.blogspot.com/2010/05/will-we-see-ipad-webcamcamera.html"> Re: Will we see IPAD webcam / camera accessories?
iPod and the camera is connected via the connector is not compatible with the fundamental IPAD. When the time IPAD connected IPAD dialog box appears "IPAD is not compatible with this accessory." Apparently, to buy the IPAD does not work, I need money to buy more accessories IPAD. In this case you must use the new camera kit for IPAD.

Re: Will we see IPAD webcam / camera accessories?
Apple IPAD tool connecting the camera first testers found that this adapter can be used to connect USB devices except the camera away, it can be used to compensate IPAD deficiencies without USB interface. It is very easy to connect the camera to IPAD. Just connect your camera with the adapter.

I bought a SONY digital camera and I'm sending to a country where they are at 220 volts. Do I need to buy?

I-220 sent to Bangladesh volts. In the back of the charger says input: 240V-100V 50/60Hz Output: 4.2V 0.33A Does this mean that I have to buy an adapter?

Not I am 100% sure, but according to the information provided, technically there would be no problem for you to use the battery charger bought in the U.S. to sue in Bangladesh since the range of voltage and the cycle is covered for both U.S. UK and systems 220V and 110V, respectively, and the frequency of 50 Hz and 60 Hz respectively. Only thing you may need is the "Pin-size" of the current connection (which goes into the wall sockets). There are many types of "adapter for U.S. outlets that will allow you to adapt to the British standard plugs (as used in Bangladesh). This small part may required to buy either U.S. or you can buy this in any part of the electronic shop in Dhaka or major cities of Bangladesh. PS. 110V adapter to adapt 220V is one thing, and the power adapter and plug (Pin-Legs) is something different, I hope you know about these.

Breaking in a motor cycle?

Some days ago I bought a $ 2008 model Kawasaki Vulcan hundred a dealer here in Panama, I have a good price because it was an older model but with only 25 miles on the clock, when I asked the seller of the execution he said "bikes new run is not necessary, "so I went and put it to normal running speeds up having to 80and 90 mph with gusts up short, I went on a trip 160 km road the next day, doing this kind of speed, but only in short bursts. a way to collect the owners manual of the workshop dealers the next day and said the bike does not have to be conducted over 95 KPH for the fist 1000 K, I also got caught in heavy traffic and crawling along or stand for a long time and the temperature light red wine in a minute or two and then went back, I want to know is does anyone out there who knows what they are speaking I could have damaged the engine in any way.

Do what the manual says. That's why the manufacturer takes the trouble to print one in the first place. This is what I have always done with all the bikes I bought new. My oldest bike has almost 90,000 km, is very hard to set much of the time, and works well without consuming oil. From a security standpoint, it makes absolutely no sense in doing 80-90 miles per hour on a bike that is a totally inexperienced. In general, is best to seek advice before, not after, try something.

Compact and Folding Reading Glasses: Easy to Carry, Easy to Read

Reading glasses, as their name would suggest, aid you in reading or performing close by jobs, when you regularly start to feel a strain in doing so. When you need to hold a book at arms length to be able to read it comfortably or when working on a computer for long hours gives you a headache, it may be time to get yourself a pair of reading glasses.

How Do Reading Glasses Help?

When you have trouble focusing on nearby objects, your eye doctor may prescribe reading glasses for you. You may be required to wear them when you are reading, writing or performing any task that involves close by objects, like writing, working on a computer or even, needlework. Reading glasses come in two types - full frames or half-frames. Reading glasses with full frames are usually suitable for those who have to work for long hours on close by objects. However, if they need to look at anything a little far away, the object will appear blurred.

To rectify this shortcoming, you have the half-frames or half-eyes, as they are affectionately called. These frames sit lower down on your nose making it convenient for you to do whatever job you had on hand. If you need to see something in the distance, you just need to look over the frame and you could see far-away objects also very clearly.

However, reading glasses could be a nuisance to pull out and wear on occasions such as, an evening at a restaurant or a movie when all you want to do is take a quick glance at the menu or ticket. Not to mention, the sense of embarrassment and awkwardness, which many feel at such times.

Compact and Folding Reading Glasses to the Rescue

Compact and Folding Reading Glasses have brought in a mini revolution to the reading glasses market. There are now a variety of these glasses meant for temporary use. There are tiny, foldable readers with telescopic temples that fit in cases that are merely pen-sized. These can fit in your purse, briefcase, even in your shirt pocket. Most come in specially designed, colorful hard-sided cases for providing complete protection as well as for a sense of style.

Small in size but made from high quality metals and zyls, these reading glasses offer style and functionality in a big way. You can also find compact magnifying lenses that come in the size of credit cards but which are provided with a tough polymer-coated acrylic frame to withstand wear and tear. These lenses can fit inside a small wallet or hooked in a key chain. Some come in as fancy pendants that you could swing around your neck.

Most of these compact reading glasses now also come in a variety of designs, textures and colors. With such variety, you are bound to find a reading glass that suits you and the purpose for which you require reading glasses.

Far from making them feel awkward or embarrassed, these reading glasses now allows one to make a unique style statement with their choice of compact and folding reading glasses.

Night Vision Optics

Night vision devices (NVD's) have advanced considerably in recent years and this sophisticated technology is now easily available for anybody interested in outdoor pursuits such as camping, fishing, hunting, astronomy or sailing. Night vision devices work by capturing existing ambient light through the front lens. This light, which is made up of photons goes into a photocathode tube that transforms the photons into electrons. The electrons are then thrown against a phosphorus screen that changes the amplified electrons back into visible light which can be seen through the eyepiece. This image will appear as a clear, green-hued re-creation of the originally observed scene.

The main difference between various night vision devices is which type of image intensifier tube is used. A Night Vision Device can be either a 1st, 2nd or 3rd generation:

Generation I A GEN 1 unit will amplify the existing light several thousand times to provide an image that is magnified and easily viewed by the night scope's eyepiece (ocular). These units are the most reasonably priced night vision devices and so provide the greatest value to people seeking night vision capabilities.

Generation II GEN 2 devices use a micro-channel plate to achieve lower image distortion as well as higher light amplification characteristics. This extra process allows GEN 2 units to amplify the light many more times than their GEN 1 counterparts, creating a significantly brighter and sharper image.

Generation III These devices have gallium arsenide added to the intensifier tube and a special protective film on the micro-channel plate, which increases the life of the tube, thus providing the user with good to excellent low light performance. GEN 3 devices are military standard.

Telescope users...?

Not sure even where to post this but I want to get my husband one and have looked online. Not knowing anything about them, it is hard to make a good choice. For a beginner, what should I look for? what MM?what brands are good? bad? what about electronic hand? I'm looking to spend under $200, and there seems to be plenty to chose from in this price range, but I need some guidelins from somebody who knows about them. Any ideas?? thanks!

There's a lot to know when buying a telescope. Too much to list here. The link below leads to a good site that can answer your questions. Unfortunately, $200 really won't get you a better scope. Certainly not a computerized one. But it can get you something to let you look at the sky.

What is a Medium Voltage (MV) AC Drive (Frequency Inverter)?

What is a Medium Voltage (MV) AC Drive (Frequency Inverter)?

Don't feel bad about being confused by "medium voltage drives" terminology. It's a confusing because it sounds like a technical term, but really it's marketing driven. Actually, there are two terms that can be confusing to anyone new to the field of automated control of electric motors.

Let us start with the word "drive." Also sometimes called an inverter, a drive is essentially a power amplifier that puts out the electric power needed by an electric motor based on the torque and/or speed called for by the controller, which is a digital computer tasked with overall system control. As the industry has shifted in favor of variable-speed drives, the role of the drive has become more important.

Variable-speed motor/drive combinations use a synchronous ac motor with an encoder built in. The encoder signals the motor's speed and phase angle to the drive, which must then match its output frequency to the motor speed and its output phase to produce the required torque.

To get the drive's power efficiently out to the load as mechanical power requires having enough voltage to drive enough current through the motor. The output power is, after all, the product of voltage times current. The ratio of the voltage to the current, on the other hand, defines an impedance for the drive/motor combination.

Copper resistance in the motor coils and power cables, as well as contact resistance in all the connections rob the system of power, however. The higher the circuit impedance compared to these parasitic impedances, the more efficient the overall system will be.

The graph below compares motor/drive impedance to a typical parasitic impedance level of one Ohm. Assuming we want the ratio to be one or two orders of magnitude, the chart shows how the supply voltage needed correlates with output power. Small, fractional horsepower motors (red line) work well from a few tens to a few hundreds of Volts. Larger motors require hundreds of Volts to run efficiently. As horsepower requirements climb, so do the drive voltage requirements.

What really drives people crazy is the term "medium voltage drive." It is a purely marketing term. From zero to 600 V is called "low voltage (LV)." "Medium voltage (MV)" is 600 V and above. There is no "high-voltage (HV)" designation.

Comparing this 600 V cutoff to the chart shows that low-voltage drives provide good efficiency up to several horsepower (10,000 W). Above 10 kW, however, medium voltage drives are needed. Voltages above a few thousand Volts, however, are needed only for the relatively few electric motor applications requiring hundreds of horsepower. Most applications requring that much mechanical output are currently served by internal combustion engines.

Designing Telescopic Slides Into Electronic Enclosures

Whether it is a server, power supply, keyboard, fan tray or some other chassis configuration, there are two main aspects to consider when designing slides into electronic enclosures; the cabinet construction and the chassis – or drawer.

The attributes of these two components affect the overall enclosure configuration and the selection of slides, brackets and cable carriers.

Telescopic slides and brackets are often used to mount drawers into cabinets. Slides also provide the means to safely open drawers while giving access to critical contents. Finally, wire management or cable carriers must be added to protect wiring. Successfully combining these elements can be a significant challenge.

Often, integration problems can be traced back to cabinet configuration and related spacing issues. The following takes a systematic approach through the key aspects that influence a successful assembly.

Know the cabinet and the standard measures

Cabinets vary according to manufacture and intended use, displaying unique column shapes, thicknesses, materials and placement. These construction variances have a significant effect on the enclosure design. Be sure to obtain detailed specifications from your cabinet manufacturer.

  • Cabinets generally contain four or more rails (columns/uprights)

  • There are front rails, rear rails and optional mid-rails

  • There is no limitation on overall cabinet height

Most electronic cabinets are based on international standards and these dimensions are part of the equation that determines the available space for cabinet components.

  • The minimum opening width between cabinet rails is generally 450mm/17.72” for 19” wide cabinets.

  • Cabinet mounting rails carry a repetitive pitch pattern of mounting holes in a vertical sequence 15.87mm, 15.87mm, 12.70mm, 15.87mm (?”, ?”, ½”, ?”) and so forth.

  • The outside cabinet dimensions (footprint) are always greater than the cabinet mounting rail dimensions. The mounting rails are located inside the cabinet enclosure and components must be planned to fit within the rail dimensions

  • The actual distances between the width and depth of the mounting rails will vary according to manufacture.

Know the cabinet rail construction, rail configuration and mounting holes

Check if the cabinet has adjustable or non-adjustable mounting columns. Some cabinets include a mid-rail that may be adjustable. Rails come in an assortment of profiles and the shape affects the cabinet’s internal available space and therefore the selection of components. Rails also have several kinds of mounting holes and locations. It is important to get the exact details on the type of mounting holes offered on the cabinet.

Chassis size

Chassis is the term for an electronic drawer. When designing the chassis be sure to include the slide and bracket dimensions when determining its width.

Vertical measurements are also critical to the installation. The minimum height of a chassis is based on a standard nominal unit increment of 44.45mm or 1U. The height of the chassis plus the space required between the drawers must be accounted for when planning the overall number of chassis to be installed. The vertical dimensions are further affected by the need to match the chassis relative to the spacing of the mounting holes on the rails and the positioning of the slides, brackets and cable carriers.

Know the slides

Selecting the correct slide is based on several factors including:

  • Anticipated chassis load

  • Distance of chassis travel required; slides offering full extension or over-travel provide the best access to chassis contents (illustration)

  • Cabinet depth

  • Slide-to-cabinet mounting bracketry

  • Required slide features, for example, locks, hold-in or out, disconnect

The mounting position of the slide on the chassis is affected by factors such as bracket alignment, pitch pattern, chassis contents and centre of gravity. Remember also that the smaller the slide profile the more space is available for the chassis.

Know how much working space is available

If some basic dimensions are known, the space available for the remaining components may be determined. For example, by knowing the slide width, bracket thickness and cabinet opening, the chassis width can be determined.

By identifying all of the component variables, planning a compatible assembly becomes much easier.

Carl Zeiss And His Binoculars

The ones that introduce a new idea into technology should be the ones that others ask for information on those items. This is true in many of the cases.

The Carl Zeiss brands of binoculars were not created because there was a need for them. The company has been in business for over a hundred years. They have much experience in the manufacturing of optical products. It was created in the year of 1852 as a workshop for Moritz Carl Hensoldt the founder of the company. He was in the business of creating equipment used in astronomy, microscopes, and telescopes for viewing planets and other terrestrial objects. In the year of 1893 an application for the double telescope with a longer range of sight was applied for. It was given to them July 9, 1893.

The Carl Zeiss binoculars that have the roof prisms in them came about in the year of 1897. These particular binoculars are well known as the Penta 7x29 model A-. This product was the beginning of the better features in the world of binoculars and scopes for rifles. For more info see http://www.binoculars-rating.com/Compact_Binoculars/ on Compact Binoculars

Carl Zeiss created another wonderful set of binoculars in the year of 1903. The Dialyt was created for the binocular marketplace. It was recognized around the world and gathered much fame and success. This was the beginning of the trademark that would forever be known as the Dialyst. This trademark would take the Carl Zeiss binocular products and scopes for rifles trademark of Diavari around the world. The Diavari trademark came into existence in 1954.

Two years later the binoculars that are made by Carl Zeiss used the cuff gasket for their designed because it was an item that had many features to it. The binocular products that were made with this item were able to focus on something while being safely covered from any debris and wetness. This was a major feat for a double sight binocular because up until then, it was only in a single sight binocular.

The binoculars that Carl Weiss came out with in 1958 were known as the B-model. these binoculars give you a wide range of sight and are great for the users that have eyeglasses. Pocket size binoculars were made in 1974 and given to the public as a grand feature. These binoculars also gave you a main point of focus and were also available for glasses wearers.

Form the year of 1974 until today, the binoculars made by Carl Zeiss keep on giving advances to the technology of the optical equipment we use. They have become the world's oldest makers of binoculars that are still up and running today. They have gotten this recognition because of their many years of experience and knowledge in the field. This form of lens crafting has been a generational craft that Carl Zeiss created.

Much of the things that Carl Zeiss stands for came from many trial and error times. This is not uncommon for the technology world to try and fail only to find a better product among the dust. Carl Zeiss has worked hard to give the customers the best of the best features possible in the market today.

Do I simply need a larger objective lens?

Good evening. I just recently purchased an Orion 90mm refractor. I am at 34 degrees N. Thus far, I have been a little disappointed in the investment because the objects I have sighted (Jupiter, M31, Saturn) are, well, tiny. In fact, M31 seemed to me to be no larger than a star with another star (M110) close by. My scope's focal length is 910mm and I have two eyepieces---10mm and 25mm. So obviously my magnifications are roughly 36x and 91x. Am I simply expecting too much and should realize that I don't own the Hubble Space Telescope? Or would I be better served by investing in a scope with a larger objective lens? Any advice here would be appreciated.

Doug. A couple of points. We are spoilt nowadays by fantastic images of celestial objects and because of this novices often have expectations which are WAY too high. As a beginner I spent lots of money on a qualtity 200mm reflector and I was very underwhelmed and more than a little dissapointed by what I could (and couldn't...) see. 2 years later I love the same scope and I'm thrilled by what I can see, because I've adjusted my expectations to a more realistic level. I also have a VERY cheap 70mm refractor which is considerably less capable than your scope and I'm also quite impressed with that (for a small cheap scope) Re M31, it's actually a huge object in terms of its angular size and what you are seeing is just the bright core. The whole galaxy is around 190 arc minutes wide, (over 5 times the width of the full Moon) so it's not a great target for visual observers. Galaxies in general are not great in a small scope unless you are under very dark skies as the outer parts of most galaxies are very faint. M51 will fit easily in your scopes field of view but you'll probably still only see the 2 bright cores. Re magnification You should be able to squeeze around x150 magnification (or a touch more) from your scope under good skies so a shorter focal length eyepiece may be a good investment but nights when you can push things that far will be few. Around x110 - x120 may be more suitable. However, I almost guarantee you'll return to the wider field, lower magnifications you're using now as these normally offer a sharper, more pleasing view especially if you like the deep sky. That's a difficult one to get your head around at first, but I assure you it's true. Of course, a bigger aperture scope will improve your view dramatically and most of the Chinese reflectors available now at very reasonable prices from Orion/Celestron/Skywatcher etc appear to have very good optics for the money so if you can stretch to something bigger it will enhance your hobby considerably. If you like both planetary and deep sky stuff then a reflector of around F6 focal ratio (in whatever aperture you can afford) would be a good purchase but your 90mm scope should still have its place in your arsenal

What is a Digicam and How Does it Take a Picture?

What Is A Digicam And How Does It Take A Picture?

Digicams – most commonly known as digital cameras – are cameras that can take still photos and short videos using a digital method that records the images onto a light-sensitive sensor and then transfers them onto a removable chip. Most digicams today can record sound with the video, and while they are not as high-tech as their camcorder cousins, the quality is good enough for short clips that you manage to take during candid moment.

A digicam also features options that most standard film using cameras do not. For example, digicams come with a LCD screen in which you use to line up the picture or video and then review them after the have been taken. The storage medium allows the user to take considerably more pictures than the average roll of 24 or 36 exposure film – a 1 GB chip can store over 200 photos. Users who are not happy with the picture they took can immediately delete and take it again without wasting an exposure or film. Plus, the chip can be erased and reused over and over again.

Digicams can be found not only in a standard compact camera format, but also in mobile telephones, PDAs and even in high-tech instruments such as telescopes. The Hubble Space Telescope is a very large, very specialized digicam. The flash in a digicam is built in and users can play with the variety of settings available on them – in the mobile phone and PDA style – to make their pictures more interesting. Setting such as sepia and black and white, red eye reduction, and more all make a digicam more versatile that a traditional film camera.

This technologically advanced camera takes a picture in the same way as a traditional camera with the exception of needing to use the optical frame. On the back of a digicam – or on a separate piece connected to the device – is an LCD view screen that acts in the same way as the optical frame with the exception that you do not put it to your eye. By lining up the picture with the LCD screen, you are ready to take the picture. Digicams have shutters just like a regular camera and some move a little bit faster. The shutter will open and close, capturing the picture.

Instead of imprinting the image on film, a digicam will convert the image into a digital format. It will then save the image file on a small media chip that can then be placed into the user’s computer and the pictures or vide downloaded onto the computer to be viewed or printed. Depending on the megapixel resolution of your camera will determine just how clear and sharp your photos are.

Digicams do save money in that the pictures can be developed and printed at home as many times as the user wishes. They are easy to use and you never have to worry about running out of film during all of those ‘Kodak moments’.You can find a great range of digicams as well as many other electronic gadgets at GadgetsAuction.com

How can I decrease a telescope's magnification without changing the eyepiece?

I have this cheap telescope that I want to manipulate to increase it's field of view/decrease magnification for an electronic eyepiece. Is there something I can do with the primary mirror? Do companies make the reverse of barlow lenses?

There are "focal reducers" that shorten the focal length of refractors. This is the opposite of the Barlow lens.
You can buy them, but they are specifically designed for particular scopes, and are expensive, probably more than what your scope costs. They come in 0.33, 0.50, and 0.63 power.
Making your own is possible. If you get two long focus objective lenses (a pair of front lenses from 7x35 binoculars) held close together, curved side almost touching curved side, that would be a good one.
You cannot use this on a mirror telescope like a Newtonian because there is not enough space between the small diagonal mirror and focusing eyepiece to put one.
There is nothing you can do with the primary mirror to change the way it focuses light.

Top Ten Trucks for Towing

American car buyers have always been fond of large vehicles such as pickups and SUVs. For those who love the off-roads, the pickup is the best choice. The wide range of choices for pickup trucks can often lead to confusion among car buyers. Not only are pickup trucks numerous, they are also offered in different variants. For example, for General Motors pickup, not only do they offer different cab sizes or different lengths of bed but also different suspension settings.

But there are attributes that truck buyers look for in a truck that is instantly obvious - for example the towing capacity of a truck. For serious off-road drivers, a truck’s towing capacity is the measure of how good the truck is in real life off-road driving. Forbes recently ranked ten of the best trucks for towing to help truck buyers chose the right truck.

Coming in at first is the International CXT that is developed by the Navistar International Corporation. The CXT is currently the world’s largest pound and has a very impressive towing capacity of 40,000 pounds. The sheer size of this pickup truck is evidence of how much weight it can tow. While this mammoth of a pickup truck looks like it will pass for a commercial truck, one need not have a commercial license to drive it. Impressively, the tough looking CXT is available with a luxurious interior that is complete with plush leather seats, black walnut trim, and a dropdown DVD system for entertainment. It is, of course, obvious that the CXT offers adequate interior room especially with its rear bench which can be folded down. The CXT has a price tag of $120,000.

Number two on the list is the Ford F-350 Super Duty. The truck’s towing capacity is rated at 19,200 pounds. While significantly smaller than the CXT, the F-350 is the largest of Ford’s Super Duty lineup. Along with the rest of its siblings, the F-Series is the best selling lineup of vehicles in the world for more than 25 years. The F-350 is equipped with features which complements its superb towing ability. The truck uses a special transmission with a gear ratio selection specially designed for towing. A telescoping outside mirror also allows drivers to look around trailers. The F-350 comes with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $23,525.

Ranking third on the list is the GMC Sierra with a towing capacity of 16,700 pounds. Similar to the Ford F-Series, the Sierra is also a lineup of pickup trucks from General Motors’ GMC brand. The toughest of the family is equipped with a massive 6.6-liter Duramax turbo diesel engine. While the Sierra is known for its power, it also offers a luxurious interior for some of its variants. The Crew Cab Denali version for example is equipped with a Bose luxury seven-speaker system and a DVD player with a seven-inch screen which folds down from the ceiling for the entertainment of backseat occupants. For its power and luxury interior, the GMC Sierra starts at $27,340.

Number four on the list is another truck from General Motors - this time, the Chevrolet Silverado with a towing capacity of 16,700 lbs. The Silverado’s popularity is evident in the fact that it is the best selling vehicle of the Chevy brand. Similar to the Sierra, the most powerful engine in the Silverado’s lineup is the 6.6-liter Duramax turbo diesel engine. True to the Silverado being a close relative of the Sierra, it is also offered with the same Bose sound system and a rear-set DVD entertainment system. The Silverado has a starting price of $24,485.

Ranking number five on the list is the Dodge Ram 3500 with a towing capacity rated at 16,400 pounds. The most powerful engine available for the Ram is the Cummins 5.9-liter turbo diesel engine. The company claims that their Cummins 600 is capable of delivering, as the name implies, 600 lb-ft of torque for superb pulling power. The power of the engine is complemented by its reliability. According to Dodge, the engine needs a major overhaul after 350,000 miles. The power produced by this reliable engine far exceeds that of a car equipped with a K&N cold air intake system. The Dodge Ram 3500 comes with a starting price of $47,605.

Next to the Ram on the list is the smaller sibling of the mighty CXT - the International MXT with a towing capacity of 16,000 pounds. Compared to the CXT, the MXT weighs considerably less at five tons while the CXT weighs 7.25 tons. The MXT features a cleaner exterior styling but still exudes the same aura of power that the CXT has.

Number seven on the list is the redesigned Toyota tundra with a towing capacity of 10,000 pounds. The redesign of Toyota's pickup shows that they are ready to take on the Big Three at their own turf. Since its introduction, car experts have touted the Tundra as an outstanding redesign but needs more in order for it to become a strong contender to the pickups produced by Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler.

Ranked eighth in the list is another Asian pickup - the Nissan Titan King Cab with towing capacity of 9,500 pounds. This is another effort by another Asian car manufacturer to be a strong contender in the pickup truck market dominated by the Big Three. The Nissan Titan has a starting price of $23,400.

Number nine in the list is the Cadillac Escalade EXT with a towing capacity of 7,300 pounds. While the Escalade has been known for its luxurious interior its powerful engine is enough to land the Escalade at the ninth spot of the top ten trucks for towing. With a wide array of luxurious features including a Bose sound system and a DVD entertainment, towing has never been more in style. The Escalade EXT comes with a starting price of $54,430.

The number ten spot is occupied by the Hummer H2 SUT with a towing limit of 7,000 pounds. The H2 is currently the leader in Hummer’s lineup and carries on the Hummer tradition of being a superb off-road vehicle with god towing power to boot. The H2 SUT starts at $52,230.

How does a truck crane boom extend?

Somebody told me that there is a huge telescoping hydraulic cylinder, yet where would all the hydraulic fluid be kept?
Another person told me that there is a hydraulic motor that drives an internal chain, yet I can't visualize this. Any explanations would be appreciated, or perhaps pointing me to a diagram. Thanks
The howstuffworks page just describes the sections of a truck crane, but does not explain how it works nor does it answer my question.

Here it is.
