What do I have?

I bought a reflecting telescope out of focus eBay.The if it is a focusing mechanism moves a slide not up down, but moves horizontal. The secondary mirror focuser it.Is this or is it just a change of focal length? And if there is a focusing mechanism can be mounted on the top of the slide? I have no eye for it, so can not drop a focus to see if ... any help will be .... big thanks no make or model anywhere

This sounds like a Newtonian Vixen, imported from Japan for about a decade ago Celestron. It focuses by sliding the eyepiece holder and even secondary and primary pipe. Despite the unusual focus mechanism, these telescopes were excellent, usually mounted on Vixen Polaris equatorial mount fine.

The wonders of science are in a telescope mirror

World outside world and the fascination has always seemed to hold man in his possession. Beings humans seem to be capable of wanting to know more about all the planets that exist within our solar system and worlds beyond. Perhaps our fascination of life beyond Earth is the key that feeds all types of inventions that give us hope that we are not alone.

Therefore, it is not surprising that Science has a huge following and NASA as a major concern. Human curiosity is something that can be difficult to extinguish, and that seems to grow more fierce with each new generation.

The invention of the telescope has always been hailed as the time when advanced science. So the interest in the telescope's mirror is so intense. Not only does the need for progress, but also the need to know. In fact, one can say that the telescope's mirror is the keyhole to the soul of the world.

The hype of creation has now seemed to have a share on the lives of most people. It seems that some nut wants to give the telescope science mirror a more personal touch. This has led to the DIY action creating these mirrors of telescopes and in-depth knowledge about the cell telescope mirror is being acquired. No wonder that the Internet is already loaded with ways to make your own telescope with the fundamental element, which is the mirror the telescope.

Perfection is in the glass

For the first timer in the telescope-making may seem a bit confusing As for how to get the shape of a telescope mirror is correct. It seems that this is in the preparation of the glass. Choosing the right type of glass can be a bit complicated, but there are many professional web sites dedicated to showing how to accomplish this.

The trick is knowing the required thickness, discovering the fact that the bulk the glass is more work will need to enter the perfect sphere. You can simply talk to glassware and know what your best crystal. They will be able advice on the tough nature of the different types of glass as well as the type of glass, which could be ideal for telescope use.

Recognition in the telescope's mirror is that in effect keep the flames of curiosity alive. When you see something that is off the ground with only a small instrument can give one a rush much-needed adrenaline.

For a first draft to a mirror in the "4-10" size range. It will take some weekends. Grinding, polishing, thinking, and coating a small mirror in one day can be done, but will require some experience. There are other tests, too, as Ronchi, can be done. There are plenty of websites in the manufacture of the telescope. There are 30 courses to + telescope, workshops and clubs. Some are on the website Stellafane. A few clubs (for example, Washington and St. Petersburg) have their own cameras aluminising. Most have aluminized mirrors commercially. - A lot of styles mounting. See It Better with Telescope Binoculars

The difference between a telescope and telescope binoculars is one eye. With a telescope you peer through the lens with one eye and with telescope binoculars you use them both. Additionally, telescope binoculars are similar to traditional binoculars, only with a much longer focal length.

It has been said that a person can see more in the sky with a good pair of binoculars than with a cheap telescope, and telescope binoculars are designed with star gazing in mind with wider aperture opening to allow more light into the lenses, offering a brighter view of the viewing subject. There are many binoculars on the market which can serve as telescope binoculars with the right focal length and magnification power, along with a reasonably wide lens opening.

Porro prism binoculars are better suited for night time gazing as they absorb less light through the prism path as do roof prism binoculars and will render a much brighter image when used as telescope binoculars in the typically low light conditions of nighttime viewing. However, upgrading optical quality and lens coatings are rapidly allowing the manufacturing of roof prism binoculars to meet the quality of porro prism units and they are gaining in popularity despite the higher cost.

Mount Telescope Binoculars For Stability

When using traditional binoculars as telescope binoculars it is best to have a unit with the capability to mount to a stable object such as a tripod or wooden deck to allow for better stability as well as in keeping them pointed in the same direction. Much like a telescope, they can be used to spot smaller objects in the sky, but can quickly lose sight of the object if moved and you will have to start the search all over again.

When looking for binoculars to double as telescope binoculars the numbers are important to know and understand. Binoculars are usually listed with two numbers, for example 10 X 50. This would indicate a magnification factor of 10, meaning the object will appear to be 10 times larger than the original and the diameter of the objective lens, in this case 50, determines the light gathering capability of the lens. While an objective measure of 30 is good for daytime use, a 50 would provide typically good views at night.

To be effective as telescope binoculars, a magnification of 100 with an objective opening of 70 or more would be preferred. Remember that the longer the magnification and lens opening the more the unit is subject to shake when being held in the hands. A tripod or mount will reduce this and is virtually necessary with longer lenses.

Camera mount for my telescope? Astrophotography?

I have a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W1 Digital Camera, and I have a 102mm apex mak series telescope by orion. I want to be able to take pictures of what I see. I have seen the SteadyPix Universal Camera Mount. I am not sure if this is a good buy or not? What is my best bet for getting good images of what I see?

Hi. Bright objects like the Moon can be made by using afocul photography which is simply holding the camera up to a telescope lens and taking a shot. Attaching the camera to the focuser will give better (clearer) images. There are devices that allow a shot directly from the telescope that adapt the camera to the tube. Depends on what you want to spend and what you want to shoot.

dobsonian telescopes for astronomy

How do you build a telescope? I need someone to check my answer..?

I am putting up a site called www.howtelescopeswork.com In it, I talk about tips on viewing astronomy, the moon, planets, etc. I have plans that I redrew for a dobsonian telescope, multiple truss tube sizes, building a laser collimator and even a camera barn door mount. I would like any feed back on this before I send it to the printers. I am releasing this because of the year of astronomy! Oh, and don't forget to hit some of the sponser links. This helps pay for the webspace I am using up!

The first thing I looked for isn't there (or I couldn't find it quickly): how to determine the sizes, prices, quality, supplier of your mirrors.

A site map, for easy reference, might be a good idea too.

Wilderness Survival Gear For Hiking And Backpacking

As backpacking and hiking equipment has become more sophisticated, people have gotten more daring, and at times even reckless. Humans, it seems, have an inherent need to prove they can survive in the wilderness. More and more hikers and rock climbers are backpacking deeper and deeper into the unknown wilds. These are not your weekend campers. Rather, these are serious nature lovers who look and find there own truth, each time they venture outdoors. There is obvious gear and equipment they utilize, both traditional and futuristic. This article will attempt to verify some of the accepted items to pack, as well as some new options to think about.

When packing, it doesn't matter what type of activity you are going to undertake, there several unwritten rules one has to abide by. First, you must pack  light, and include the basics of food, water and a way to purify it, first aid kit, and some kind of fire starter. A map and compass, so you have an idea on where you're going and how to get there. Include some type of multipurpose knife or tool that can perform a number of tasks, from cutting branches to removing splinters. Don't forget your sunglasses and some sun screen. A flashlight and extra batteries, even if you are taking some type of lamp. Now, this is very important. Even though you are trying to keep it light, you must take extra food, as well as rain wear and extra clothing, including a hat.

There are two schools of thought when it comes to the use of futuristic equipment. I'm referring of course to GPS and beacon technology. Purists don't want anything electronic, and the other camp feels they should take advantage of anything that will get them home safely. The current expense of these devices does make them cost prohibitive. Also, in the case of an injury, these units don't give the precise location of a victim, so you will still need some sort of signaling device, like a mirror or whistle.

I don't feel that the future must all be electronic. I have come up with a patent pending concept that will satisfy both camps, and is so cost effective, anyone that backpacks, hikes, rock climbs, and camps, will be able to afford. In this day and age of electronics, I have devised something that is completely mechanical. There are no batteries or bad reception to worry about. Surviving in the wilderness should never come to mean survival. In this day and age, someone who is lost should only be thinking about being rescued. That is why we needThe LifeTracker.

The LifeTracker makes it possible for people to be found before panic on both sides will ever set in. It not only will save lives, but millions of dollars in search and rescue man hours. The LifeTracker is a device that in case of an emergency will, with the pull of a cord, jettisons a heavy  gauge red balloon attached to a 1000 ft fishing line up high enough for searchers or a rescue plane to see. The LifeTracker is a series of 3 different products designed to locate anyone lost in the wilderness, in hours rather than days.

The LifeTracker Belt is...4" wide with pockets on the outside to store a thermal blanket and other survival supplies.

The LifeTracker Vest...Using the same concept as the "Belt" the vest inner side unzips to release a folded lean-to tent complete with telescopic 3 ft poles. Some people will prefer a vest and are willing to pay extra for the complete survival package. This offers a great option, and like the "Belt", is very marketable.

The LifeTracker Flare Gun...Flare guns are very expensive and, of course, the flare only has a short life. With a small adjustment to the LifeTracker Device, it can easily be kept in a lightweight pistol, that can be stored in any backpack, vehicle, boat or plane.  It might even have military use.

The LifeTracker Series can be manufactured and sold inexpensively enough so that anyone who camps, hikes, rock climbs, or just ventures into the wilderness, will want to include it as part of their gear. Even if the rescue device is never activated, the gear becomes part of  everyday wilderness attire.
Please help my dream come true. Go to:  The LifeTracker
and click on Contact and let me know what you think.

About the Author

Jack has always been in love with the outdoors. Now in his late 50's, he lives in California surrounded by meadows and trees. So many people go missing each year, so he has come up with an idea to help find anyone lost in the wilderness, in hours rather than days.

How to build my own reflector scope from scratch (not using any kit)? - beginner question?

I'm planning on making an 8"-10" reflector scope using everyday things (w/ some fabricated stuff). Is there any specifics on which kind of concave mirror should I use? Or a vanity mirror is already good enough? About the second (flat and ellipse) mirror, how will i know the size and the distance from the main mirror? How they are related? And how they are computed if ever. Last thing.. making an eye piece, (planning on using a pvc pipe).. from what I saw in my 3" scope, the smaller the diameter of the concave glass, the better magnification.

So that's pretty much the plan. Not sure though how hard or easy it is making my own Newtonian telescope. Please give your comments. And tell my if I'm insane with my plan. I only know basics. I'm just a big fan of scopes. :)
EDIT: some vanity mirrors have concave shape. You can tell that because you apprear bigger in the reflection.

What will happen if you just use cheap mirrors like a vanity mirror??

Fifty years ago, it used to be very common for people to make their own telescopes. Nowadays it has become very rare, because commercial telescopes have become relatively inexpensive. One result of this is that it is very hard to find the parts needed to build your own scope. Unless you have a very strong motivation to learn how to do this, and to track down the parts needed, I wouldn't recommend building your own scope. Because the parts are hard to find, they are very expensive, and a home made telescope will cost many times more than a commercially built telescope. Labour is so much cheaper in China where almost all telescopes are made nowadays.

From your question, it's clear you have little idea of what's involved. Any telescope uses a "first surface" (aluminized on the front) precision ground mirror as its primary. A vanity mirror is a "second surface" (aluminized on the back) mirror with nowhere near the precision to form an image. It is possible to grind and polish such a mirror yourself; there are kits available. Aluminizing the mirror must be done by a professional mirror coater.

Drivers, Keep Your Eyes on the Road: Cell Phones and Other Driver Distractions

The list is endless: dialing a hand held cell phone, conversing on a cell phone, operating a PDA or reaching for it, eating, drinking, smoking, daydreaming, "rubbernecking", applying makeup, combing hair or brushing teeth, removing or putting on jewelry to name only a few. We've all seen it. People engaged in secondary tasks while they drive cars and trucks on our country's public roads and highways. Driver inattention is a leading cause of vehicle crashes. The situation only seems to be getting worse.

Does it really matter whether you take a few seconds to run a comb through your hair or dial a friend's phone number while you drive down the road? The answer is yes, it does. Studies conducted for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration demonstrate a direct relationship between driver inattention and automobile accidents. Just glancing away from the roadway for more than two seconds can increase your risk of a crash or near crash at least two fold over normal, attentive driving. Engaging in more complex visual or manual tasks while driving can raise your crash risk even higher. It goes without saying that driving while drowsy is always dangerous and increases the risk of an accident.

Remember, however, not every glance away from the road ahead is dangerous. Quick looks into rear or side view mirrors to check for approaching vehicles or other obstacles can actually decrease your risk of a crash. The motor vehicle driver who periodically scans his surroundings, specifically looking for potential hazards, is a safer driver.

Drivers have been primping, smoking and eating behind the wheel ever since motor vehicles took to the roads over a century ago. Why is there so much fuss over inattentive drivers now? Within the last two decades, cell phone use has increased to the point where there are now over 250 million people in the United States who are wireless communication subscribers. Many of these subscribers regularly use their cell phones while they drive. After all, most everyone wants to stay in touch with friends, relatives and associates. Teenage and young adult drivers are especially addicted to the new technology. They keep their ears glued to cell phones and spend lots of time text messaging friends. Unfortunately, all this friendly communication translates into driver inattention, and it comes at a price.

A 2007 Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. survey of 1200 drivers found that 73% of the drivers surveyed routinely talk on cell phones while driving. This high incidence of cell phone traffic means there are more distracted drivers traveling our highways. The more inattentive drivers there are on the road, the more frequently these drivers will be involved in accidents. This doesn't mean talking on a cell phone while driving is the most hazardous of driver distractions. Drivers who reach for falling objects like a coffee cup or who open a glove compartment are actually at greater risk of a car crash. Nonetheless, driving while you are conducting a cell phone conversation is risky business. A recent University of Utah report declared that the impairment level for persons driving while talking on cell phones is comparable to that of motorists driving while intoxicated at the legal blood-alcohol limit.

It is tempting to conclude that carrying on a cell phone conversation is safer than handling and dialing a cell phone. After all, once the phone connection is made and the conversation begins, you're keeping your eyes on the road ahead, aren't you? The answer to this question is "no". Studies show it is not just the physical act of reaching for the phone and dialing that raises the risk of involvement in a crash. It is also the mental concentration that comes with both listening to someone speak to you and formulating your verbal response. When you're absorbed in a phone chat with a friend, your mind is focused on the conversation, not the road. Despite this reality, however, states are taking action to ban hand-held cell phone use based on the rationale that hands-free cell phone conversations are safer. In July, 2008, California will begin enforcing a new law banning hand-held cell phone use by non-commercial drivers. The states of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Washington, D.C. have enacted similar legislation.

At present, these states are in the minority. Although more and more state legislatures are taking action to curb cell phone conversations by drivers, few states ban cell phone use altogether. Where there are bans, certain professions or jurisdictions are sometimes exempted. Nevertheless, more and more states are identifying specific categories of drivers for special regulation. Because cell phone use and text messaging is highest among teenage drivers, states have become pro-active in dealing with this age group. Seventeen states, including Virginia, Texas, and New Jersey plus Washington, D.C. regulate cell phone use by novice drivers depending on their age and/or whether or not they have a learner's permit or a provisional license. Fifteen states prohibit cell phone use by school bus drivers.

To date, legislators in Virginia have focused only on cell phone use by young drivers. Enacted in 2007, Virginia Code Section 46.2-334.01 provides that, "except in a driver emergency or when a vehicle is lawfully parked or stopped, the holder of a provisional driver's license shall not operate a motor vehicle on the highways of the Commonwealth while using any cellular telephone or any other wireless telecommunications device, regardless of whether such device is or is not hand-held." This provisional driver's license restriction expires on the holder's 18th birthday. Violation of the statute constitutes a traffic infraction. Multiple offenses may result in suspension of the juvenile's privilege to drive for a period not to exceed six months, in addition to other penalties a judge might impose.

Of course, it is not only cell phone conversations that put motorists and others at risk. When a driver is drawn into conversation with his passengers, for example, his ability to react quickly to trouble on the roadway ahead is also impaired. He is likely to brake more slowly and to follow other vehicles too closely. The bottom line is that, although cell phone use is a common driver distraction which raises the risk of an accident occurring, drivers who habitually engage in other inattention-related activities are also likely to be involved in crashes.

Never decide whether or not to engage in any distracting activity based on what you perceive to be its level of danger. In other words, don't reassure yourself by thinking it isn't as dangerous to make a hands-free cell phone call as it is to eat a cheeseburger while you're at the wheel. Remember that a few seconds of driver inattention for whatever reason can lead just as easily to a collision with a Mack truck as it can lead to a crash with a Dodge Neon. It simply depends on which vehicle is in your vicinity at the moment you become distracted. In the end, it is the severity of the injuries you and others sustain in a crash that really matter, not the degree of danger you may attach to the diversion. Stay safe. Watch where you're going!

How to clean your new acrylic awnings

The new awnings you purchased for your home are most likely made from a synthetic solution dyed acrylic fabric.  The most recognizable brand name of this fabric is Sunbrella, other brand names are Dickson Constant, Recacril, Sattler, and Tempotest.  All these fabrics have been treated during the manufacturing process with water repellants and mildew inhibitors.  Cleaning the awnings will affect this treatment so it is a good idea to retreat the fabric once cleaning has been completed and fabric is dry.  The following is a quick guide to effectively cleaning your awnings and treating them in order to ensure a long life for your awnings while looking great.

Step 1:  Determine the fabric your awnings have been manufactured from.  If they are any material other than solution dyed acrylic then do not use these instructions.  Some of the other materials used in residential awnings include cotton, vinyl, and coated polyesters.  If you have trouble determing the fabric your awnings are made from then call the manufacturer/installer and inquire.  Most companies keep these records readily available.

Step 2:  Be safe!!  If you are going to clean the awnings while they are still on their frames make sure you use the proper ladders in order to reach the awnings.  If you clean the awnings after you have taken them down for the season then make sure you clean them on a smooth clean surface.

Step 3:  To clean the awning properly you will need a soft bristle brush.  Preferably one with a telescoping handle.  Mix a solution of Dawn dishwashing detergent ( or ivory snow )  and water to start with, this solution should take care of most of the common dirt found on awnings.  Rinse the awning first to get the fabric wet and then brush the solution onto the awning, brush up and down and diagonally.  Rinse well to ensure all detergent has been rinsed away.

For stubborn stains that remain on the awning following a basic cleaning you will need to use a different method and cleaning agents.  The following are some of the most common stains found on awnings and the method used to get rid of these stains.

Mildew:  Use 1 cup of bleach and 2 ounces of Dawn dishwashing liquid and one gallon of warm water.  Let the solution soak into the fabric for 30 minutes and then follow the instructions above.  Be careful to wear gloves and eye protection and be aware of whatever else is in the vicinity of your awning that could be affected by the bleach solution.  With this method it is best to clean the awning away from the house, shrubbery, flowers , etc.

Tree sap:  Use turpentine directly on the sap and then the solution of Dawn dishwashing liquid/water.

Bird droppings:  Dry bird droppings can sometimes be lightly scraped away. Try this first if you can reach the offending birds parting gift.  Once you have done this then attack the rest of it with Goo Gone Grease Cutter, Greased lightning or Clean Rite Purple Power.

Grease/Oil:  Use a volatile solvent (acetone).  Then use soap and water. Again as with any powerful cleaner be aware of what is around the awning.  Also wear eye protection and gloves.  As with any strong chemical follow the manufacturers recommendations regarding the safe handling of their product.

Step 4:  After the awning has dried completely.  Retreat your fabric with 303 Fabric Guard.

If you follow these steps you will prolong the life of your awnings while keeping them looking great.

How does a newtonian reflecting telescope work?

My new telescope has piqued my curiosity--More specifically, why is it that when looking into the eyepiece we don't see the cross shaped mount for the diagonal mirror (or the mirror itself?) in the image? I can't get my head around the problem and it's been so long since I did optic physics that I've pretty much forgot how it all worked....

The central obstruction is before the light is focussed by the telescope. Consider a star anywhere in the field of view. What point of the mirror does the light from that star hit? It should be obvious that if you ignore the central obstruction the light from that one star shines on the entire surface of the mirror, not just one point.

The whole job of the telescope is to sort out these rays of light so that there is a 1:1 correlation between the _direction_ of incoming light rays and the _position_ of those light rays on the focal plane. So the light of stars in the middle of the field of view hit the edges of the mirror and are directed to the centre of the image further along the optical path.

The "hole" in the image is all over the image in the form of lost light making a dimmer image, not concentrated in one position of the resulting image.

How Do Telescopes Work - Amateur’s Guide to Telescope-making

When Galileo made his telescope, he was far from the expert he became later. He was just a layman, who found the sky and its stars fascinating and wanted a device that would take him closer to the object of his fascination. It was this desire that led him o devise the first ever telescope that changed the face of history in more ways than we can imagine.

In today’s age, a person is able to buy a telescope, readymade, from the market. But for one who is not experienced, constructing a telescope is akin to an adventure. Although the procedure is complex and technical, and quite long, it is quite possible to make a telescope for oneself, by oneself. For the amateur who holds a keen interest in the telescope and the way it works, constructing it by oneself can be quite adventurous and fulfilling.

The construction itself is not very difficult, and it is made easier if one can enlist the assistance of another person who has himself constructed telescopes earlier. Even someone who is an amateur astronomer would make a good mentor, if it’s no possible to find one experience in telescope construction. Astronomy clubs generally have at least one member who has prior experience of building telescopes, and such people are quite accommodating towards amateurs.

For an amateur, telescope construction can be a cumbersome task. Patience and calm are advisable for a first-timer. The greatest inventions of all time came from blind experiments and unexpected results. When starting out, it is always best to have some references and manuals handy, as they can explain the technical aspects in the clearest ways. A local library is a good source for material to an amateur just starting out in telescope building.

The basic elements of a telescope are the mirror, two lenses, the housing for the whole structure, and materials that will be used for polishing the mirror. These parts can all be bought at local stores or even online. The mirror can be ground at home as well, but is a tiresome process.

The construction of a telescope is a long and drawn out process. Careful planning is required to ensure that there is minimal cleaning up left after all the work is completed. Is advisable to lay out newspapers to ensure clean work as well as to ensure correct placement of all the equipment. Maintain a logbook if possible to keep track of the task completed and the duration of each task. In later stages, the logbook is a good record to refer to understand the tasks completed and how long each task required. Also, it helps one to remember what work has been completed and what remains.

Once the construction is complete, it is quite natural for the amateur to be pleased with himself for the work he has accomplished. It is however, easier to buy a telescope kit from the market instead of purchasing individual component and constructing the whole structure. Assembling a telescope from a kit is easier, takes less time and is a better financial option. Such telescope kits are intended for the amateurs, and not directed at the professionals.

How is the telescope mirror made?

Ok I have the concave glass with the sagita and with the focal length, but just the glass. Now I need to help me and answer me how I will make the glass to reflect from the sagita.I need to know what is the chemicals to make the mirror (the reflecting part). It is probably some aluminium fluid but I don't know what exactly. Please help me and tell me the process...

You have already hogged the glass out? Use finer and finer abrasives to smooth the glass. Then polish the glass with rouge or cerium oxide. Make a Foucault tester. Then figure the spheroid or paraboloid. Then have it coated with aluminum by a commercial firm or a club. The Washington and the St Petersburg clubs do mirror-coating.

The glass, and grinding and polishing materials are sold by Newport Glass Works, Salem, GotGrit, and Willmann-Bell.

NGW has some prices at its website. The website also gives some instructions on mirror making.

There are about 30 mirror-making groups/classes/workshops. Some are listed at the Stellafane website.

There is a telescope making Yahoo! webgroup called "make_your_own_telescope".

Hid Kits are a Great Modification for Your Vehicle

HID kits are designed to produce more light than stock bulbs and headlights. These kits come with all the necessary parts you need to replace your factory installed headlights with more powerful and robust lights. HID is an acronym for High Intensity Discharge. The kits are composed of three parts: starters, ballasts and bulbs. There are many advantages of these kits and one of most prominent of these benefits is that these lights consume very less power. As a result, more power can be utilized for other operations and hence an overall smoother and more enjoyable ride can be realized.

HID lights provided by the aftermarket car parts industry are very easy to install. They are manufactured to receive amplified power from the ballast unit and therefore produce high intensity light. It is a known fact that these headlights produce up to 3 times more light than ordinary stock headlights that come with halogen bulbs. Another interesting fact in this regard is the improvement in night vision. HID headlights are much more powerful than ordinary headlights and therefore they are perfect for night driving. These kits also come handy in fierce weather conditions like rainstorm and fog.

High quality HID kits are designed to be shockproof as well as waterproof. That is why they last for a long time. Modern HID headlights require only 35 Watt power which is very less as compared to power requirement of halogen bulbs. The overall design and functionality is optimized in these headlights to make them suitable for all car makes and models. As these kits produce more light and also have increased life, they can be a perfect modification for your car. They provide efficient long-term maintenance and are also quite easy to install.

HID lights are available in a range of different colors. Some car enthusiasts out there simply want to install these lights because of the cool colors they produce. The brightness of these lights is measured in K or Kelvin units which are used for the measurement of temperature. Different temperatures produce different colors. It is up to you to select the range of colors you want in your headlights. Normally the colors are blue, purple, orange, yellow and white. 5000K to 12,000K is the normal range of temperature these bulbs come in. The intensity of this light is according to the traffic rules and therefore these headlights are safe to be used.

HID kits come in many different styles. They are specifically designed for different car models. Before buying a kit, make sure you have specified your exact car make, model and year to locate an appropriate kit for your vehicle. You can choose among four types of HID headlight kits: single beam, telescope, bi-xenon and hi/lo beam. All these kits come with different features and it depends on your requirements what type of kit will be best suited to your needs and budget. Since these kits are very popular all over the world, many renowned manufacturers produce state-of-the-art, robust HID conversion kits for their customers.

You can also buy individual parts of HID headlights to improve the performance of your factory installed kits. However, to avoid getting into trouble it is advisable to buy an entire kit which is not very expensive at all. Different types of kits for your car can be found online in a matter of seconds. Your kit should include an instructions booklet to help you throughout the process of installation. In addition to this, it should also come with a decent warranty period. These measures can be used to determine the quality and worth of an HID conversion kit.

What would a 5 year old boy want for Christmas from his cousins?

i need to get my cousin, he's 5, a gift for a Christmas thing. they live in new york, so they only come to visit once in a while (that's why our family Christmas is so late). what would he want?

he likes making videos, coloring, and drawing, BUT we got his sister like a $70 gift, so we don't wanna just get him coloring books and an art kit. We don't want to get him a camera, because he is still young and could break it easily. He has a bike. And computer games. And clothes. but, what do you think he would want from us?

My mom said that he might like a telescope, but then again, it might be too complicated.he likes transformers, the movie cars, and Thomas the train, but his parents have a lot of money, so he has like all of that stuff. please and thank you!

You could get him the kid tough camera or video camera. He can drop it or even throw it and it wont break. Some can even go in water without anything happening to it. You could also buy a plastic container and fill it with a bunch of craft supplies or a drawing table.
