A Brief Review On Binoculars
As we all know binoculars are one of the most amazing things invented by man and there are many things to keep in mind when you think of buying a pair of binoculars.
If you observe carefully there are numbers written after the binoculars name, those numbers are very important. The number that you see in the first is the amount of magnification the binocular has. The second number that you see is the size of the optical lens. For example if you see a binocular with the numbers 8X40 it means the binocular has a magnification of eight times and a lens size of 40mm. Although you can see objects that are far away, binocular that have the magnification greater than ten starts to loose its image quality.
Binoculars that have lens with dark coating tend to resist the test of time better then the binoculars that are un-coated lenses.
The only advantage of buying a pair of binoculars from an internet dealer is that they are comparatively cheaper than any other retail store near you. But purchasing one from a retail store can give you the opportunity to test your compatibility with the binoculars.
I suggest you to spend a little extra money on water proof binoculars that will exist for a long time.
There are two kinds of binoculars collectors, those who collect the plain and massive field glasses and the second group of people are those who collect binoculars attracted to its compact and glittery opera glasses. The biggest opportunity for these collectors is in EBay as it provides a wide range of different kinds of binoculars.

Looking for a spotting scope ( even binoculars ) f/ target shooting.
Would be using for indoor 50' .22 cal rifle & pistol as well as outdoor for longer ranges .. 25yd to 100 yd larger calibers.
Mainly interested in what power to look for .
Physical size, zoom, brand not important.
Just do not want to buy more than I need.

Leaning away from binoculars .
Getting one eyeball on a scope is easier for me.
For occaisonal use would something
50 or 60 X be OK ?
If you buying a quality scope (Kowa, Zeiss, etc...) you can get a 20x fixed. If you are buying a mid to low end scope you will want a 20-60x zoom. Other than the fact that the larger the objective lens is, the more light it lets in and the brighter the target; size does not matter near as much as quality.
