Telescopes and lenses ????????
I have three different eyepieces, one of them says: H25mm, another that says SR4mm, and the third says: H12.5mm, which of these is the strongest ???... And also I have a goal that says, "Barlow 3X" in it, what is this??
To expand on the response of poornakumar: I fear the optics of these is probably not very good. Huygenian eyepiece design is obsolete, and has been for a few decades. The same Ramsden (I think that's probably what is the SR). And the 3x Barlow is probably useless - certainly in relation to the Ramsden it would be. In short, their telescope has two important parameters: its openness, which is the width of the lens or mirror and is probably in the neighborhood of 50 or 60 mm, and its focal length, which we say (For the sake of discussion) is about 600 mm. The increase produced by the telescope, along with a given eye, is the ratio of focal lengths. For example, with Ramsden, this telescope would 600 / 4 = 150x enlargement, with 12.5 mm Huygenian, would 600/12.5 = 48x. The nominally Barlow multiplies it by a factor of 3. He soon found, however, it does not matter so much what a high magnification you can get as much as the amount of detail can be seen, and a telescope 50 or 60 mm aperture, it is likely having expelled all the details you can see at 100x or so. (The golden rule is always twice the aperture in mm, but this can be adjusted up or down to optical quality and / or visual acuity of the observer) Eye. usually come in three barrel diameters: 0.965 inches (or 24 mm), 1-1/4 inch and 2 inches. Of these, 0.965-inch eyepieces are generally of lower quality. (There are exceptions Japanese, but you know if you have one.) If your eyes are 1-1/4 inches copies just go to a store telescope and request updates. The least expensive are decent eye Kellner (sometimes also known as achromats Modified, Super Modified achromats, etc), and in any case, it would be difficult to find eye in a shop under the Kellner. Other popular designs are Plossls and orthoscopics, and other designs that cost more exotic (but you can get to you like!). If, however, is .965 inch eyepieces, you may want to get an adapter to allow you to use 1-1/4 "eyepieces. As I said, good eye 0.965 inches exists, but not cheap, and are difficult to find. The adapter is an option reliable.
